Thus is that rapture discerned. Experiencing rapture through in-breathing and out-breathing, feeling is the foundation, mindfulness is the contemplation, knowledge. Feeling is the foundation, but not mindfulness; mindfulness is both the foundation and mindfulness. By that mindfulness, by that knowledge, one contemplates that feeling. Therefore it is said: “the development of mindfulness-foundation, the contemplation of feelings in feelings.” How does one contemplate that feeling when it says “contemplates”?
