the Kathina withdrawal is at the decision. A monk who has received the Kathina receives an unfinished robe and departs. Having gone beyond the boundary, he thinks thus: "I will make this robe right here, I will not return." He makes that robe. While that robe is being made, it is destroyed. For that monk, the Kathina withdrawal is at the destruction. Three. A monk who has received the Kathina receives an unfinished robe and departs, thinking, "I will not return." Having gone beyond the boundary, he thinks thus: "I will make this robe right here." He makes that robe. For that monk, the completion The termination of theina is final. A bhikkhu who has terminated the kathina, takes an unfinished robe and departs, (thinking) "I will not return." When he has gone beyond the boundary, it occurs to him thus: "I will not make this robe." For that bhikkhu, the kathina termination is by decision. A bhikkhu who has terminated the kathina, takes an unfinished robe and departs, (thinking) "I will not return." When he has gone beyond the boundary, it occurs to him thus: "I will make this robe right here." He makes that robe. While that robe is being made, it is destroyed. For that bhikkhu, the kathina termination is by destruction. A triad. A bhikkhu who has terminated the kathina, takes an unfinished robe and departs, without a clear intention; it does not occur to him, "I will return," nor does it occur to him, "I will not return." When he has gone beyond the boundary, it occurs to him thus: "I will make this robe right here, and I will not return." He makes that robe. For that bhikkhu, the kathina termination is by completion. When he is outside the boundary, he makes that robe. Having made the robe, he hears, "Indeed, the Kathina has been withdrawn in that dwelling." For that bhikkhu, the Kathina is withdrawn by hearing. A bhikkhu, whose Kathina is established, takes an unfinished robe and departs, thinking, "I will return." When he is outside the boundary, he makes that robe. Having made the robe, he, thinking "I will return, I will return," lets the Kathina withdrawal period pass while outside. For that bhikkhu, the Kathina is withdrawn by passing the boundary. A bhikkhu, whose Kathina is established, takes an unfinished robe and departs, thinking, "I will return." When he is outside the boundary, he makes that robe. Having made the robe, he, thinking "I will return, I will return," meets the Kathina withdrawal. For that bhikkhu, the Kathina is withdrawn together with the bhikkhus. The six. When he is outside the boundary, he attends to that robe-hope. He obtains it without hope, he does not obtain it with hope. He thinks, "I will make this robe here, and I will not return." He makes that robe. For that bhikkhu, the Kathina is withdrawn by completion. A bhikkhu, whose Kathina is established, departs for a robe-hope. When he is outside the boundary, he attends to that robe-hope... He waits for it. Without hope, he obtains it, with hope, he does not obtain it. It occurs to him thus: "I will not make this robe, nor will I go back." For that monk, the Kathina is withdrawn due to a decision. A monk with the Kathina observed departs with the hope of a robe. Having gone outside the boundary, he waits for that robe-hope. Without hope, he obtains it, with hope, he does not obtain it. It occurs to him thus: "I will make this robe right here." He makes that robe. For that monk, the Kathina is withdrawn due to completion. A monk with the Kathina observed departs with the hope of a robe, (thinking) "I will not go back." The section on "with hope" A monk, having finished the kathina, sets out for a robe-hope, (thinking) "I will go." Having gone beyond the boundary, he attends to that robe-hope. By hope he obtains, without hope he does not obtain. It occurs to him: "Here I will make this robe, I will not go." He makes that robe. For that monk, the kathina is uplifted by completion. A monk, having finished the kathina, sets out for a robe-hope, (thinking) "I will go." Having gone beyond the boundary, he attends to that robe-hope. By hope he obtains, without hope he does not obtain. It occurs to him: "I will not make this robe, I will not go." For that monk, the kathina is uplifted
