Sa! Clear beyond all actions, clear with unobstructed and direct awareness, clear in a state of non-conceptual equality, clear with awareness unattached and unscattered, clear with non-conceptuality free from elaboration, clear with awareness without thought or deliberation, clear with knowledge unwavering in anything, clear with awareness without reliance, with thought not entering into anything, clear with awareness without grasping, clear with awareness unbroken, clear with awareness not falling to any side, clear with awareness connected to everything, clear as the basis of all things. Thus it is said. From the Vajrasattva Great Sky Brahma Sutra, Chapter Fourteen: Self-Illuminating Awareness. Vajrasattva then asked again: Blessed One, Great Bliss, Samantabhadra, how does one abide in equipoise? Samantabhadra replied: Listen, assembly gathered to me, Samantabhadra is unfixed, like the sky, abide in the state of impermanent clarity, do not obstruct the five senses, abide in their own place, do not seek, abide in the great self-nature, unwavering, abide in the state of equality, non-conceptual, abide free from elaboration, do not grasp onto anything, abide as you please without rejecting appearances, abide in the state of clear non-thought, abide in the state of non-dual equality, relax body, speech, and mind, and abide, thus unmade, abide in your own place, unattached, abide free from clinging, with thought not entering into anything, abide, with knowledge without thought or deliberation, abide. Thus it is said. From the Vajrasattva Great Sky Brahma Sutra, Chapter Fifteen: Non-Conceptual Equipoise. Thereafter, Samantabhadra gathered the assembly of Vajrasattva and others, and explained the meaning of the tantra. The root of all Tathagatas of the ten directions and three times, and all sentient beings of the three realms, is the self-arisen wisdom of the mind of Samantabhadra. The self-arisen wisdom of the mind is the Brahma Sutra itself. This tantra is Samantabhadra himself. It is one's own bodhicitta. It is the body, speech, and mind of all Buddhas. To hold this tantra is to be a Buddha. Because all become Buddhas, samsara is primordially pure. To hold this is to be Samantabhadra. Because all is self-arisen wisdom. Like gold on the precious Golden Isle where stones and earth are not seen, samsara is primordially pure, it is self-arisen wisdom itself. From the Brahma Sutra, The Tantra.
