Namo Mahamudraya. In the sky of the great bliss of the sphere, The play of unconfined awareness-wisdom, The planets and stars of knowledge, love, and power shine. Lord, glorious Lama Vajradhara, I, a beggar, humbly pray to you. Please grant your blessings, compassionate one! In that pure and excellent realm, You have an unchanging body of great bliss, Known as Vajradhara. It is said that you are the lord of the entire mandala. That is not somewhere else, But the one and only root Lama. Lord, by the kindness of your compassion, I, too, have gained a little stability. In the original, unaltered, natural state, I delight in the confidence of certainty. In the clear and pure self-appearance of mind, There is nothing that does not arise. This liberation from the very moment it arises, Is it not the yoga of self-liberation? This unwavering recognition of one's own nature, Is called the meditation of calm abiding. This rootlessness of not finding a nature, Is it not the wisdom of insight? Lord, as soon as I know that my own mind is inseparable from you, There is no difficulty in meeting the Dharmakaya face to face. In the yoga of seeing one's own face, Generate unwavering devotion. That I have obtained a human body with leisure and opportunity, That I have generally encountered the Dharma, That I have especially received the secret mantra, And that I have also received this profound meaning of awareness, Are signs that I have accumulated a little merit in the past. That my mind has turned a little towards the Dharma, That I have been cared for by a qualified Lama, That I have found certainty in the Dharma sutras and tantras, And that I have no immediate attachment, hatred, or partiality, Wherever I stay, I am happy. I do not need to be deceived by the pleasures of this life, I have not taken the flattering words as a handful of flour, I have not longed for power, So my mind is always at ease. The world that pretends to be a Buddhist, The sweet words that are held inside, Ultimately, they do altruism to satisfy their own desires. By abandoning these three, I have gone to the Dharma. This is also the kindness of the glorious Lama. I am still praying, Please grant your blessings, compassionate one! Lord, by the blessing of your compassion, May there be auspiciousness and perfection in all places and times now! This was said by Taranatha at Yarlung Taglung, determined to be in the Tsok kyi Khorlo.

A Song of Praise to the Sugatas. Mangalam Vistara Kuru. A song sung by Taranatha in the Tsok Khorlo. Namo Gurave! According to the wishes of sentient beings, Performing activities that benefit beings, With a mind free from conceptualization and great compassion, I pray to the Lama, the incarnate form. Although the mind dwells in great bliss, unmoved by speech, The body is adorned with marks and signs, merely wind and mind. He performs the deeds of taming pure disciples, I pray to the Lama, the Sambhogakaya. The essence of the Dharmadhatu is emptiness, The ability to know how it is and how many there are. From the beginning, free from all elaborations, I pray to the Lama, the Dharmakaya. My body and possessions, From the beginningless cycle of samsara, Until the end of the future, Whatever virtues there are in the three times, I offer to you, Lama. Now, with actual offerings and those created by the mind, Outer desirable offerings of various kinds, Inner union of Shamatha and Vipassana, Supreme bliss and emptiness inseparable, a secret power. All of that, uncreated, unobstructed ability, That very offering, I offer extensively. Please bless me at this very moment. Before the mandala of wisdom, The light of knowledge radiates in ten directions, Dispelling the darkness of ignorance of those to be tamed. Father Lama, like the mandala of the sun. My mind is also like the sun, Its essence is without increase or decrease, Appearances arise unceasingly in ten directions, Its nature is clear light without obscuration. The mandala of pure intention is clear, And the white light of love radiates, Because it dispels the heat of afflictions, Father Lama, like the mandala of the moon. My mind is also like the moon, Its nature is completely pure, With the rays of the light of Bodhicitta, I see that it destroys the darkness of hatred. Samsara and Nirvana are without narrowness or wideness, And it pervades all dharmas without near or far. Having become the basis of all incarnations, Father Lama, like the expanse of space. My mind is also like space, Its nature is without obstruction or resistance, And it is the ability of all appearances in general. All appearances appear without cessation. Activities are continuous, Moistened with love and compassion, And it washes away the stains of those to be tamed, Father Lama, like the flow of a river. My

The mind is like a stream of water. From beginningless time to the very end, Its nature unchanging, continuous and unbroken. It purifies its own impurities. In the depths of unwavering wisdom, Waves of immediate benefit ripple in all directions. The source of all precious benefit for others. The father lama is like a great ocean. My own mind is also like the ocean. Its nature unmoved by conceptual thoughts, Never ceasing in its power of awareness. It is the source of all qualities. Because it relies on the basis of the two accumulations, Is adorned with the tiers of the two stages, And is the support for those who desire liberation, The father lama is like the king of mountains, Mount Meru. My own mind is also like Mount Meru. Firmly established in its naturally pure essence, Adorned with the tiers of experience, It appears as the support for the two siddhis. Whatever my own lama is like, The minds of the six classes of beings are also like that. Since the meaning is thus, please understand. Rest in equanimity, you who possess vows. This melody is also offered to the lama. In this place, may auspiciousness and goodness be bestowed. Thus, this was sung by Tāranātha in the gathering circle. Tashi! Shubham! Sung during the joyous feast given at the place of the Dharma Wheel Platform, on the first watch of the tenth night. ༈ Namo Gurave. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) The venerable one in human form is the great Vajradhara. Is he not the father root lama? He accomplishes the benefit of beings according to the inclinations of those to be tamed. Is he not the lama of that lineage? He tames beings through the door of the all-encompassing space of reality. Is he not the great Vajradhara? He accomplishes benefit through various emanations. Is he not the mandala of the yidam deities? He is unobstructed in his power and might. Is he not the Dharma protector and guardian? You are a wondrous emanation of one wisdom. It is most amazing that you show yourself in various ways. I pray from the depths of my heart. Please bless me at this very moment. All fortunate men and women of this time, Please listen to my words. In this human body, so difficult to obtain and easy to lose, Seek a way to bring forth the essential meaning. From the ocean of suffering samsara, By all means, seek a way to liberation. Since it is the gateway to all dharmas, Even if this life is given up, it should be sought. Since it is the root of the sacred Dharma, Generate renunciation from samsara. The essence of practice

Since it is, cultivate loving-kindness and compassion, Bodhicitta. Since it is the pinnacle of all Dharmas, rest in the state of emptiness free from extremes. Since the nature is naturally clear, rest in the unaltered, original state. Having shattered grasping in its own place, meditate on the meaning of non-intentional grasping. Conceptual thought is a deceptive trick, maintain a relaxed, unfabricated state. Upon the essence of whatever arises as external appearance, rest with clarity and without attachment. Upon the essence of inner awareness, the mind, hold the indivisibility of awareness and emptiness tightly. When the mind abides in the state of equipoise, rest in spontaneous accomplishment without fabrication. Afterwards, when appearances arise unceasingly, look at the face of whatever arises. Upon the naturally pure nature of appearances, widely expand the pure appearances. Take your own body as the deity's form, regard it as a calculation of appearance and emptiness, illusion. Upon the self-appearance of the mind's naturally blissful nature, expand the essence extraction technique in all directions. Upon the nature of the body's channels, winds, and bindus, strike the essential points as the Guru has said. For the various doors through which experiences arise, seek a practice method free from attachment. Keep this meaning in your heart, and be sure to strike the essential points. Gyalkhampa, the yogi without fixed self, offers this melody to the Guru as a worship. Although there is no elegance in these words, this meaning has a definite certainty. Thus, Gyalkhampa Taranatha sang this as a song of celebration given at the place of Chokhor Ding (Chos 'khor sding) on the tenth night of the month, during the first watch. Auspicious! Sung as a song of the Tsok khorlo (gathering circle) in the presence of Rangjung Gonpo (Rang byung mgon po).
