My own nature, the bindu of primordial purity, is precisely that. The bindu, the all-illuminating, unobstructed power, called the branch of the mind's appearance, is thus swift, exceedingly swift, non-abiding, flowing, like a monkey, like the wind, like a mirage, like a stream of water, like a butter lamp, incorporeal, going far, not going anywhere, not returning, abiding in a place, the sphere of activity of the six, all-knowing, uniquely capable, not arising, all arising, abiding in peace, distinct, one, not distracted, completely distracted. If one seeks it, it has no characteristics or nature. Unobservable, to be habituated. Certainly constant, to be thoroughly examined. Appearing as anything, yet not being so. In all arising, everything is gathered into one. Pervading all, yet all without birth. In perfect purity, nothing is accomplished. The bindu, the all-encompassing primordial purity, is without pervasion, without non-pervasion, without high or low, without large or small, without good or bad, without wide or narrow, without cause and effect, without male or female, without lineage, without form, without karmic ripening, without inside or outside, without birth, without change, without darkness or light, without before or after, without beginning or end, without self or other, without effort or accomplishment, without acceptance or rejection, naturally uncreated, completely luminous, uncorrupted, unborn, unoriginated. Thereafter, when the teacher demonstrates with natural clarity, and is asked, "What is the general Dharma and the nature of inherent qualities?" The teacher replies: "In the essential unborn primordial purity, appearance and non-appearance, existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, beginning and end, phenomenal existence, samsara and nirvana, Buddha and sentient beings, object and mind, self and other, enemy and friend, attachment and aversion to appearances, the emptiness of appearances—all of these are inexpressible, without example, unspeakable, without terms of expression or words. Merely pointing to this as a name: Samantabhadra cannot express it. Realize the all-encompassing bindu of that." Thus he spoke. The ninth chapter, the instruction on the bindu's key points, is complete. Thereafter, when Power Clarity Jewel asks the teacher who demonstrates primordial purity without defilement, "How are the essential points of the mandala of the heart essence of the ten luminous minds of the secret mantra of the nine syllables of the general essence to be liberated?" When he asked this, the teacher spoke to the assembly: "The so-called nine peaks are the nine vehicles of
