The Tantra of the Perfection of Wisdom of the Mind of Enlightenment. In Sanskrit: Bodhicitta Jñana Sampurna Tantra Nama. In Tibetan: The Tantra of the Perfection of Wisdom of the Mind of Enlightenment. Homage to the Perfection of Wisdom of the Mind of Enlightenment. Thus I have heard, at one time, in the realm of Akanishta, the great expanse of the nature of mind, the Bhagavan, the spontaneously perfect one, dwelt in the meaning of spontaneous awareness. Moreover, at that time, the great assembly of the ripened ones was such that they were solely gathered in abiding in their own nature, beholding their own nature, greatly realizing their own nature, and manifestly rejoicing in the meaning of the perfection of their own nature. Then, the King of Awareness entered into the samadhi of various inconceivable states. At that time, the assembled host saw everything as spontaneously arisen. Then, the Bhagavan, the King of Awareness, spoke thus: Self-arisen purity, primordial Buddha, Dharma and Dharmata, various and manifold, Awareness itself is utterly pure, With the assembly of ripened ones and minds, Behold all things as spontaneously arisen. As he spoke, from within the great ripened ones, the great Vajra Mind-Son arose spontaneously, and supplicated thus: Awareness, utterly pure Bhagavan, Great wisdom perfecting the three kayas, Activities in the ten directions without limit, Compassion, self-manifest, without partiality, Great equanimity, all-good, From the mandala of supreme awareness, With the great method of perfect wisdom, Opening the door of secret wisdom, Proclaiming the melodious sound from the glorious song, Clearly proclaim it to the assembled retinue. Having supplicated thus, the King of Awareness spoke thus to Vajrasattva: Great bliss of the perfection of wisdom, Possessed by all limitless beings, Awareness, indivisible, all-good, Not being anything, clear in awareness, Manifest enlightenment in the striving mind, Cause and effect are non-dual, free from change, Utterly pure knowing abiding in itself, See it through the very act of doing, Whatever kind of knowing arises, Other than utter purity, there is nothing else, Know it in the inconceivable time, The knowing of samsara is adventitious, Not being its own nature, it appears through conditions, The image of speech is equal to itself, The very nature of the mind of conceptual thought.

Now, in any case, it appears as it has been examined. Various kinds of conceptual thoughts flow through all doors, like many windows for one person. It is not a manifestation of various meanings. This indivisible mandala of awareness, with the meaning of view free from extremes, should be established with self-settled intention. May the unwavering, self-arisen compassion accomplish the benefit of all beings without exception. The spontaneously accomplished fruit of the three kayas is not other than perfect wisdom. Whether the faculties of the six realms are decisive, or whatever has remnants of practice, from whatever door of the category of Dharma, having established oneself in the general empowerment, one should receive the oral transmission instructions. Having established oneself on the path without traveling, the qualities of the uncultivated ground increase. Even though the lineages are not sequential, it is the ground for entering all at once. The ground of the self-arisen wisdom lama, the supremely great Dharmakaya, attains enlightenment by abiding effortlessly. For whatever awareness of beings, abide in the inconceivable nature. When the self-nature of awareness arises spontaneously, if it transforms into a state unmoving in the three times, then the wisdom of the Victorious Ones reaches its ultimate clarity. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Perfection of Wisdom of the Mind of Enlightenment, the introductory chapter, the first. Then, the King of Awareness spoke thus to the Bodhisattva Vajra: The conceptual thoughts of various samsaric existences and the nature of perfect wisdom are one. Perfect wisdom itself is conceptual thought; whatever conceptual thought is, is wisdom itself. There is no difference; the nature of perfect wisdom has the essence of abandoning all and the basis of all. This conceptual thought of many grasping is called the Mind of Enlightenment. Since the nature of the inexpressible mind cannot be understood without expression, it should be represented by inexpressible meaning. Samantabhadra's mind itself is completely pure, neither what is to be represented nor what represents, it is represented by self-settledness without searching. Ordinary appearing awareness, having been guided by the awareness of the teachings, should be placed in a state without acceptance or rejection. Do not fixate in the mind, abandon activity, without examining with the intellect, the nature is clear. It is neither the cause nor the effect of grasping; the fruit is accomplished by the fruit itself. It becomes the extreme of hope and effort. With the great medicine of ungrasping nature, one is separated from all chronic diseases of samsara. The nature of conceptual thought is the clear light of wisdom; self-illuminating wisdom is primordially pure, a precious pure continent.
