The Tantra Called "The Jewel Nectar Essence Drop" In Sanskrit: Ratna Amrita Rasa Bindu Tantra Nama. In Tibetan: The Tantra Called "The Jewel Nectar Essence Drop". Homage to the Bhagavan Great Secret Lord. Thus I have heard, at one time, in the Akanishta heaven, the place of great expanse of mind itself, a spontaneously arising mandala of unpainted, blazing with various colors of light, a palace of unbuilt, radiating five kinds of wisdom light. In that palace of Dharmadhatu, immovable, clear and bright as the sky, the King of Teachers, the Great Secret Lord of Spontaneous Wisdom, resided. The assembly of attendants was as follows: the five elements, the five desires, the five aggregates, the five wisdoms, the five poisons, and the five bodies, all abiding inseparably. The time was as follows: when the past, present, and future were indistinguishable in the three times. The King of Teachings, the true nature of mind, the unborn, primordial purity, the nectar essence drop, spoke thus. The "Jewel Nectar Essence Drop" is the tantra that gathers the intentions of all Buddhas. The first chapter is the complete exposition of the introduction. Then, from within the assembly, Kunrig Khyuchung arose with spontaneous skill and asked the Teacher, the Great Secret Lord: Ema, Teacher, Lord of Secrets! Here, in the nine-pointed mind itself, if the great primordial purity, free from extremes, has no signifier or signified, how will the ultimate teaching in later generations be represented beyond the intellect? Is it necessary to show the symbolic meaning? If so, what are the characteristics of a lama? Without that, how will realization occur? Thus he asked. Then, the Teacher, the Lord of Secrets, remained in equipoise in the all-encompassing samadhi without bias. Having arisen from that, he spoke: In my supreme totality, even though the signifier and signified are primordially pure, it will not be understood if not signified. Therefore, an external lama as a signifier is necessary. I will explain his characteristics. Kunrig Khyuchung, listen respectfully. In the final age of the later teachings, at the time when the teachings of the fruition flourish, the nine-pointed totality of mind itself will arise. The characteristics of the lama who holds that are: in this world of Jambudvipa, having taken the body of a pure yogi, possessing a good lineage, a tamed lineage, faith, diligence, and the essence of wisdom.

Afterwards, act for the benefit of others. Complete the hearing and contemplation of the causal vehicle. Possess conduct with power and insight. Be skilled in all tantras, agamas, and instructions. Possess intelligence and comprehend the definitive meaning. The Lama, like a precious, skillful means, will reveal the essence of the Nine Points. In the future, fortunate individuals should rely on him with faith, diligence, and respect. A teacher who does not possess these qualities has a bad disposition, is untamed, and speaks nonsense. He has low intelligence, no vows, and does not understand the meaning. The five poisons are strong, and he engages in worldly affairs. He is devoid of compassion, wisdom, and skillful means. He is not a reliable person, like a monkey. Like a blind person of ignorance, relying on him leads to the wrong path. He is bound by the poison of attachment to conceptual dharma. He casts you into the ocean of samsara. Examine that demon well and abandon him. Thus it was said. The precious nectar essence drop, from the tantra that gathers the intention of all Buddhas, the second chapter, which explains the nature of the essence, is complete. Then, Kunrig Khyuchung (Sanskrit transliteration) asked the master Vajrapani: "This general collection of the definitive meaning of the Nine Points, when will be the time of its flourishing? You have not said that it is the domain of children of inferior lineage. What are the characteristics of a suitable vessel in the future? And what should be abandoned?" Thus he asked. The master Vajrapani replied: "The student who enters this definitive meaning is of noble lineage, tamed, and compassionate. He renounces samsara and desires enlightenment. He has faith, diligence, and great wisdom. He has tamed his mind, received empowerment, and keeps his vows pure. He is generous, without arrogance, and clears away ignorance. He is upright, stable, stainless, and free from doubt. He does not care for body or life and seeks the definitive meaning. He is diligent, courageous, and intelligent. He is the vessel for my supreme general collection. The one who represents that student should be taught. He will hold the essence of the teachings. The student who does not possess these qualities is sweet-talking but hard-hearted, deceitful, and cunning. He is self-made, a dharma thief, and desires means. He praises himself and criticizes others, with great pride. He has little learning, low intelligence, and wrong views. He has no faith or diligence and blames others. He has no compassion, breaks vows and commitments. He is diligent in mistaken actions and lazy in practice. He has no respect for the Lama and is full of doubt. He is fickle, flattering, and attached to words. He slanders and criticizes the scriptures. He is like a poisonous snake, without merit. Even if the world collapses, do not teach him. There is no fault in this meaning, but it is due to the low intelligence and wrong conceptions."
