From... to living in the forest. Strive for meditation, cultivate impurity and so on. Thus it is said. Abandoning wrong livelihood, generating virtue through the union of skillful means and wisdom, thereby purifying enjoyment and merit. By practicing the right way of life, one should know that enjoyment is purified. By possessing the essence of emptiness and compassion, one can purify merit. Thus it is said. Like this, even if the three are purified, if they are not increased, one cannot fulfill one's wishes, so one must increase them. There are many things to hold, if this is little, what can one do with this? One will not generate great satisfaction, therefore this should be increased. Thus it is said. Among them, generating strength and diligence is the increase of the body. Among them, what is the increase of the body? It is being without laziness and generating strength. Thus it is said. Giving alms through the union of skillful means and wisdom is increasing enjoyment. Possessing the essence of emptiness and compassion, giving alms can increase enjoyment. Thus it is said. After that, in order to increase virtue, with diligence, stability, and compassion relying on each other, one should strive. The seven-branch offering and its benefits, as well as the four diligences with faith, respect, and without arrogance, or the five faculties such as faith and so on, and loving-kindness and so on, as well as remembering the Three Jewels, and doing whatever one does at the moment for the benefit of sentient beings, and teaching the Dharma without seeking gain and respect, and taking hold of the Bodhicitta and dedicating it to enlightenment, etc., are increasing virtue. Diligence and thought are also stable, first strive, then place compassion in front, strive to increase virtue. Like the ritual of good conduct, do prostrations and so on respectfully. Constantly cultivate faith and so on, remember loving-kindness and the Buddha and so on. At all times for the sake of sentient beings, give the Dharma without material things. Bodhicitta, in short, is the cause of increasing merit. Thus it is said. The method for accomplishing those trainings is to protect with two correct abandonments, to purify with the first, to increase with the latter two, those are also accomplished by not being separated from mindfulness, memory, and awareness. Accomplishment is also correct abandonment and so on, not being separated from mindfulness, with memory and awareness, properly applying the mind. Thus it is said. Furthermore, self and other are equal.
