The Moxibustion of Recognizing the Key Points. The Moxibustion of Recognizing the Key Points. May the Moxibustion of Recognizing the Key Points abide! At all times and in all circumstances, regarding the nature of whatever good or bad thoughts arise, looking outward at their nature, generating the mind that is empty and is emptiness itself, without exceeding this state, in this state, like a vast empty space with the nature of an empty environment, from the perspective of emptiness, a state of unattached, vast, and relaxed appearance, when one is in such a moment, there is no need to settle into it. Even if emptiness exists, it is fine; even if it does not exist, it is fine. In reality, the power of meditation is lost outward, merely appearing as if directed towards emptiness. In short, do not look outward at the aspect of thoughts, look inward at the nature of self-knowing essence, and repeatedly strive to arouse awareness, this is crucial. In terms of view, meditation, and conduct, practice in this way at the key points, in the radiance of the clarity of awareness, in the nature that possesses sharpness, no thoughts arise, therefore there is no distinction between good and bad thoughts. Do not have the thought that it is emptiness, like erecting a flag on the grassland, if one can naturally abide, that is very important. Realizing the self-established awareness is supreme. Thus it is said. Continuing to protect the self-established essence in this way is not enough, this is inevitable. If that is not enough, then I know nothing. In short, one must understand the three trainings of the path as they are. Merely understanding is not enough, one must penetrate the key points. The three of hearing, thinking, and meditating without penetrating the key points are meaningless. The essence of discipline is, with the pure discipline of abstaining from misdeeds, making one's own continuum meaningful, this is very important. One must clearly recognize what the fundamental meaning of entering the Buddhist teachings is. If one does not recognize it, then one is not a follower of the Victorious One. After recognizing it, one must practice the root of this meaning. The yogi abiding in himself, like the drum and iron making sound by themselves, this is a matter of course. After understanding this, activities of worldly samsara such as subduing enemies and protecting friends are almost never the intention of a yogi, nor are they the root of practice. The root of the yogi's practice, the root of intention is

If you act for me, then for the supreme Buddha's teachings, the precious three trainings, namely the scriptures and realizations of the Dharma, you must practice diligently. Therefore, as a follower of the Buddha, there must be a sign of being a follower. Therefore, by observing the songs of experience and biographies of the great accomplished ones, it is best to strive to follow them, which is of utmost importance. This is what Paltrul said. Homage to the Lama! For the meaning of the inconceivable Great Perfection, Showing the nakedness of the primordially liberated nature, Homage to all the omniscient fathers and sons of the lineage, And to the feet of the glorious protector Lama. Transcending acceptance and rejection, merit and demerit, right and wrong, The present awareness is naturally relaxed, The wisdom of awareness that is uncorrected and untransformed, Staying in that state is the union of view and meditation. Even if you know how to meditate but do not understand liberation, It is said to be like a meditative deity, Therefore, cherish grasping the certainty of realization upon liberation. With the clinging of non-abiding mind, the meditation of abiding state, Even if temporarily suppressing the head of afflictions, If you do not understand the secret key of self-liberation realization, When encountering circumstances, the poison of thought will erupt. If you understand the secret key of self-arising self-liberation realization, Acceptance and rejection, discriminating thoughts are like ripples on water, Instantly arising but unable to stay and vanishing. Simultaneous arising and liberation, unable to stay, Even if bad thoughts arise, you will not accumulate bad karma, What benefit or harm does a momentary thought have for anyone? If you do not possess the key to liberation in yourself, For the inferior transforming discriminating thoughts, afflictions are like a flood, Even if you only recognize your own nature with mindfulness, With good and bad discriminating thoughts, creating hope and fear, Accumulating actions, it becomes the cause of samsara. Therefore, even more than empty mind-dwelling meditation experiences, One moment of self-liberated awareness is more excellent. Primordial liberation, self-liberation, arising liberation, immediate liberation, etc., Since all the key points of view, meditation, and conduct are one, Be sure to familiarize yourself with the key point of self-liberation realization. If you know this key point, you do not need other views and meditations. All good thoughts appear as ornaments without attachment, Even if striving for good, there is no arrogance or pride. All bad thoughts vanish like a magic knot, Even if the five poisons arise, they are instantly liberated in themselves. The thoughts of the bardo, abiding in the realm of awareness, Self-arising self-liberation, like the tracks of birds in the sky. The root of samsara is the deluded discriminating thought.
