The Hundred Thousand Verses on the Perfection of Wisdom. The Hundred Thousand Verses on the Perfection of Wisdom. ༄༅། །The Hundred Thousand Verses on the Perfection of Wisdom is hereby presented. In Sanskrit: Śata sāhasrika prajñāpāramitā. In Tibetan: A flawless compilation of the meaning of the Holy Perfection of Wisdom in One Hundred Thousand Verses. Homage to the Mother of All Knowledge. Thus have I heard: At one time, the Blessed One arose from the samadhi called Profound Manifestation. The Blessed One was dwelling on Vulture Peak Mountain in Rajagriha, together with a great sangha of about five thousand monks, all of whom were arhats, those who had exhausted the outflows, were without afflictions, had gained mastery, whose minds were utterly liberated, who were knowers, great elephants, who had done what was to be done, who had accomplished what was to be accomplished, who had cast off the burden, who had attained their own benefit, who had completely exhausted the bonds of existence, bodhisattva mahasattvas whose minds were utterly liberated in accordance with the true Dharma, and limitless beings such as gods and humans, including the Noble Avalokiteshvara, Subhuti, and Ananda, beheld the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha Shakyamuni, as sixty kotis of rays of light shone forth. Thereafter, he was manifestly adorned with the thirty-two major marks and the eighty minor marks. The venerable ones paid homage and displayed offerings of various kinds. Then, the Blessed One addressed the venerable ones: The Noble Avalokiteshvara, Subhuti, and the bodhisattva mahasattvas will surely realize the Perfection of Wisdom. Thus, you should be courageous. The six sense fields and the five aggregates: form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness; the twelve sources and the six faculties: eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind; form, sound, smell, taste, tactile object, and phenomena. The meaning of consciousness is: eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness.
