Please, the king of physicians, the life-giver (referring to the teacher), explain.\" The teacher replied, \"Great sage, listen well. First, for whose benefit is healing done? The explanation of the formation of the body is as follows: the mode of formation, analogy, manner of existence, characteristics, classification, karma, and signs of decay are explained in seven aspects. Among these, the first is the explanation of the mode of formation: the factors of formation, the conditions for growth, and the signs of birth, are divided into three. First, the father and mother's semen and blood are without defects, consciousness is driven by karma and afflictions, and the five elements gather, which are the factors for the fetus to form in the womb. For example, it is like fire arising from rubbing wood. Semen and blood are roughened and blackened by wind, with a bitter and easily congealing taste. Bile makes it taste sour, with a yellow color and a foul odor. Phlegm is whitish, viscous, sweet, and cool. Blood rots and breaks into fragments of phlegm and wind. Blood and bile are like pus, phlegm and bile have lumps. Wind and bile are dry, and the mixture is like feces and urine. These cannot replace each other. If karma is not complete, consciousness will not enter. Without earth, it cannot be formed; without water, it cannot be gathered. Without fire, it cannot mature; without wind, it cannot grow. Without space, the opportunity for growth cannot be opened. Semen is white, heavy, sweet, and plentiful, and menstruation is colored like dyed liquid, rabbit's blood. It becomes clean when washed, is without defects, and enables the womb to conceive. Women between the ages of twelve and fifty, produced from essence, accumulate monthly blood flowing from two major blood vessels, which is black and odorless. The wind sends it to the opening of the womb, lasting for three days. The signs are mental weakness, a bad complexion, and the breasts, waist, neck, eyes, and hips sway. Having menstruation is a sign of desiring a man. After the opening of the womb, within twelve days, the first three days and the eleventh day do not accept a man. On the first, third, fifth, seventh, and ninth days, a boy will be born; on the second, fourth, sixth, and eighth days, a girl will be born. Just as a lotus closes when the sun sets, after twelve days, semen will not remain in the womb. Abundant semen will give birth to a boy, and abundant menstruation will give birth to a girl. If both are equal, a hermaphrodite will be born; in extremely rare cases, twins will be born. The place of birth is different." } ] ============================================================

Weakness and ugly appearance. These are born from the defilement of harm. Conception holds the seed with female characteristics, desire is satisfied and the body is stable and heavy. The father's semen produces bones and marrow, the mother's menstruation produces flesh, blood and organs. One's own consciousness produces the consciousness of the senses. Earth produces muscles, bones, nose and smell. Water produces blood, tongue, taste and moisture. Fire produces warmth, bright color and the shape of the eyes. Wind produces breath, skin and touch. Space produces orifices, ears and sound. Habit makes actions enter, appearances increase. Causes, conditions and dependent arising gather, and the body is accomplished. Thus, the process from conception to growth is explained. The cause of conception and growth is the navel. The uterus is connected to the veins and navel on the left and right. The two veins are connected to the support of the essence of samaya. Therefore, the essence of the mother's food gradually grows and changes in the womb, just as the water of a canal nourishes the fields. Also, in thirty-eight weeks, after being transformed by the wind, it grows and changes in nine months. In the first month, in the first week, it is like pouring rennet into milk, semen and blood mixed. In the second week, it becomes gelatinous. In the third week, it appears like curdled yogurt. If a man has desire, he should take measures at this time, before the female characteristics become clear. At this time, the power is strong, and it can also suppress karma. When the star is Chitra, the form of a male child is born. A blacksmith takes red-hot iron from the furnace, the color changes, and in milk, adds the previously mentioned amount, and pours in a handful of semen. Eat the essence of the sun and moon, and practice the dependent arising of binding and establishing. One should not overwork, not sleep at night, be greedy for sleep during the day, forcefully restrain oneself, eat food that is too hot, too cold, or too heavy, prohibit defecation, stop eating and wet bathing, and bloodletting, etc., until the eighth month. Otherwise, it will lead to miscarriage, death, or dryness of the waist. In the fourth week, it is round, blurry, and slender. From this, male, female, and hermaphrodite are produced in sequence. The signs of this are a heavy waist, a thin body, loss of appetite, belching, drowsiness, sore waist, growth of breasts, liking sour tastes, and craving various things in the heart. If these are prevented, it will lead to miscarriage and an ugly appearance. Therefore, give a little of a mixture of harmful and beneficial things. In the second month, in the fifth week, the first dwelling place of the fetus's body is the navel.
