Skillful means of teaching, observing the faculties of the listeners, adapting to their level, and being appropriate in various ways, this is called 'expounding for others'. The people who listen to the Dharma have various appearances that are not equal, and one should not give rise to a discriminating mind, but understand the empty and still Suchness mind, the mind of non-attainment, the mind of non-grasping, non-rejection, non-winning, non-losing, the mind of non-hope, the mind of non-birth and non-death, this is called 'the unmoving mind like Suchness'.", "Asanga (无著) said: 'In order to expound the Dharma without being tainted, there is such great benefit, so it is determined to expound. Such expounding is without taint.'", "Why is that?", "The Buddha should abide in the world to teach the Dharma to sentient beings, why does he enter Nirvana? Fearing that people will have doubts, the following explains the verse.", "'All conditioned dharmas are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows, like dew and lightning; one should contemplate them in this way.'", "After finishing the sutra, it reminds us again of the four-line verses, etc., which always lead to the emptiness of all dharmas, and it is precisely to declare and conclude the meaning of all appearances being non-appearances. Saying 'not grasping at appearances' summarizes that all appearances are illusory, in order to realize the principle that leaving appearances is the Buddha. Saying 'unmoving like Suchness' summarizes the mind that dwells nowhere, in order to realize the meaning of dwelling and subduing. Furthermore, contemplate all dharmas in six ways. Contemplating thoroughly, one will naturally see everything as empty. Within this, there is entirely a mind of anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (阿耨多罗三藐三菩提), why not abide in it? Why wait to subdue it? Contemplation is prajna (般若) wisdom, the one who contemplates is the wonderful wisdom, and what is contemplated is nothing but the wonderful realm. Such contemplation is to realize that the manifested body is the Dharma body, and the Dharma body does not hinder Nirvana.", "Like dreams, like illusions, like bubbles, like shadows, like dew, like lightning. Those who awaken to the mind arise in accordance with their nature, without action and self-accomplished, arising according to conditions." ] } ``` -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 。 ], "english_translations": [ "English version", "When conditions pass, they return to silence.
