The Sadhana of Arya Avalokiteshvara Simhanada. The Sadhana of Arya Avalokiteshvara Simhanada. Om Svasti! Homage to the nature of great compassion, homage to the Lord of the World, for the sake of dispelling all diseases, the Simhanada, I will briefly write the sadhana. Here, relying on the treatise composed by Acharya Chandragomin, and the small Dharani Sutra, there are famous separate practices. Although there are separate transmissions of the Sakya and Gyalwa schools, their meaning is the same. In the Sakya school, it is said that the transmission from Lochen Rinchen Zangpo is the common transmission. In Hangdu, the practice of accumulating the thirteen dharmas, which Malo requested from Karpo, is called the uncommon transmission, and there is such terminology. Although it seems that the subsequent permission must be done separately. However, there is no difference in the essence of the deity's mantra and the ritual, so here I will combine them into one and explain. With refuge and bodhicitta as preliminaries, on the moon in one's heart, (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Hrih), its light fills the body, the body transforms into a mass of light, purifying sins and obscurations. Radiating outwards, from the state of self-nature, the Lama and, the venerable Simhanada and retinue, Vajra Samaja. Sanskrit Romanization: vajrasamājaḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Vajra Assembly). Homage to the Gurus. Sanskrit Romanization: namo gurubhyaḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Homage to the Gurus). Homage to the venerable Simhanada deity. Sanskrit Romanization: namo bhaṭṭārakasiṃhanādebhyaḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Homage to the venerable Simhanada deity). Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Sanskrit Romanization: namaḥ sarvabuddhabodhisattvebhyaḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas). Om Siddhanada sapariwara argham, from Shabda Pratitsa Svaha onwards, offer. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སིདྷ་ན་ད་ས་པ་རི་ཝཱ་ར་ཨརྒྷཾ་ནས། ཤཔྟ་པྲ་ཏཱི་ཙྪ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ सिद्धानाद सपरिवार अर्घम्, शब्द प्रतीच्छ स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ siddhānāda saparivāra arghyam, śabda pratīccha svāhā, Chinese literal meaning: Om, accomplishment of sound and retinue, offering, sound, receive, svaha). Take refuge in the Three Jewels three times. The four immeasurables are the same as the common ones. Purify with emptiness. From within emptiness, on top of a red lotus. From the name, a white lion in a lying posture, head facing to the right, face upwards, with reddish-yellow mane hanging down, covered with a net of jewels. From Ah comes a moon, (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Hrih) a white (Tibetan: རེ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: रे, Sanskrit Romanization: re, Chinese literal meaning: Re) syllable radiates light. Offer to the Arya. Purify the sins and obscurations of sentient beings. Establish them in the state of Arya Avalokiteshvara. Gather back, (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Hrih) the syllable dissolves, completely transforming into oneself, oneself is the venerable Simhanada, body color white, one face, two arms, right hand in the gesture of bestowing supreme blessings, extended over the right knee. The left hand rests on the cushion behind. Possessing three eyes. Possessing a topknot of hair. The left foot extended, abiding in the posture of royal ease. Abandoning ornaments, in the attire of asceticism.

One who possesses auspicious marks, adorned with the thread of Brahma, wearing a red silk lower garment, with the left breast covered by the skin of a black deer, on the right side of the body is a green trident entwined with a white snake, and on the left side, on a lotus, is a skull filled with various flowers, and the stem of a white lotus is directly in front of the ear, with an open mouth on which is a blazing sword of wisdom. On the forehead is Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), in the throat is Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:啊), and in the heart is Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). In the center of the heart, on the moon, is Hrīḥ (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:舍), from which light radiates. The venerable Siṃhanāda is surrounded by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Oṃ Vajra Samājaḥ (藏文:ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ). Offer as above. Jaḥ Hūṃ Vaṃ Hoḥ (藏文:ཛཿཧཱུཾ་བཾ་ཧོཿ). Again, light radiates. The empowerment deities, the five Tathāgata families, Vajra Samājaḥ (藏文:བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ). Oṃ Pañca Kula Saparivāra Arghaṃ, etc., are offered. I beseech all the Tathāgatas to grant me manifest empowerment. Having made this request, the empowerment deities say, "Just as at the moment of birth..." From that point, they say, "Śrī Ye Hūṃ," and empower with the water of the vase, filling the body. Cleansing impurities, the remaining water overflows upwards, and Amitābha crowns the head. Vairocana is at the crown of the head, Akṣobhya on the right shoulder, Amitābha on the left, Ratnasambhava on the right hip, and Amoghasiddhi on the left, all emanating countless emanations and abiding therein. Clearly establish the recitation and visualization, Oṃ Āḥ Hrīḥ Siddha Nada Hūṃ Phaṭ (藏文:ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧྲཱིཿསིདྷ་ན་ད་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ). This is the heart essence. Homage to the Three Jewels. Homage to Ārya Avalokiteśvara. Bodhisattva, Mahāsattva, Mahākāruṇika. Tadyathā: Oṃ Akaṭe, Vikaṭe, Nikaṭe, Kaṭaṃ Kaṭe, Karoṭe Karoṭe, Vidye Svāhā (藏文:ཨོཾ་ཨ་ཀ་ཊེ། བི་ཀ་ཊེ། ནི་ཀ་ཊེ། ཀ་ཊཾ་ཀ་ཊེ། ཀ་རོ་ཊེ་ཀ་རོ་ཊེ། བིདྱེ་སྭཱཧཱ།). This is the dhāraṇī, recite as much as possible. Finally, dissolve the deity's form into non-objectification and abide in emptiness. Again, dedicate the merit with the pride of the deity, and then conclude the session. Regarding this practice, inviting the wisdom being of the self-generation, making offerings, and then requesting them to depart is merely done out of attachment to sectarian views, as it is not found even in the old instructions of this practice, nor is it actually necessary. As for the അനുജ്ഞാ (anujñā) ritual, if it is done in accordance with the tradition of Nāropa's instructions, then the other ritual will also be obtained as a side benefit, so it should be done that way. Make a white eight-petaled lotus maṇḍala with clusters. In any direction, arrange the vase in accordance with the general practice, along with offerings, etc.
