The Song of Self-Realization. The Song of Self-Realization. The Song of Self-Realization. Om Swasti (藏文:ཨོཾ་སྭཱ་སྟི།). Homage to the Lamas! The incomparable protector, the Lama, merely hearing his name possesses supreme meaning. With a respectful heart, I pray from the depths of my heart, please bless me, your devoted disciple. The root of Dharma is threefold: devotion to a qualified Lama, cultivating compassion and Bodhicitta, and meditating on aimless self-nature. One should contemplate the difficulty of obtaining leisure and fortune, and contemplate impermanence and death. Thus, one will turn away from pursuing this life, this is the practice of the lesser being. Having ascertained that the law of karma is unfailing, one should contemplate the suffering of samsara. Thus, one will generate the pursuit of liberation, this is the practice of the intermediate being. One should cultivate the two Bodhicittas, and turn away from the lesser vehicle and clinging to signs, this is the practice of the great being. Visualize appearance as the deity's form, empty of inherent existence, and meditate on the mind's great bliss and clear light, this is the practice of mantra. In such a degenerate age, true spiritual friends are extremely rare. One sees some who pretend to be practitioners, gathering retinues and wealth and possessions. Having gathered, they cling to their own side and revile other sides, evil-minded ones. Some pretend to be renunciates for the sake of fame, some tantrikas act as they please. Some mainly speak self-righteous words, some build temples for the sake of profit, some give teachings and listen to them to appear learned, some merely make a show of being monks, etc. Hoping to be pure practitioners, for the sake of achieving their own comfort and power, they become hypocrites who feign goodness in turbulent times. These people do not even have a superficial understanding of Dharma, they only strive for the plans of this life. All those who rely on them also only strive for the power of this life. In the center of a fine seat, possessing a strong army and many servants. At the time of death, even if one's mind regrets, one still deceives others, uttering great lies. One should abandon such Lamas. When first relying on a Lama, do not be casual, one should rely on a Lama who teaches according to Dharma. Once one has relied on a Lama, no matter what the Lama's actions and teachings are, one should resolve that he is the actual Buddha. Request empowerment and pith instructions, request the profound tantras.

Pray with devotion to the Lama, Supreme accomplishments arise from that. Though there may be many Lamas, Meditate on them as one. Whether they are Buddhas or sentient beings, Whatever their actions and knowledge may be, Pray without arrogance or deceit. Furthermore, have faith in Vajradhara, And repeatedly praise the greatness of the lineage. That root Lama is Vajradhara himself. If you regard him as an ordinary person, you will miss the point. Raising up or putting down, you yourself know. There is not even the name of doubt or deceit in your mind. With unwavering devotion and a "wal-le" feeling, Let it rest naturally, dissolving into itself. All sentient beings of the six realms, Have all been your parents with kindness. Since you yourself desire happiness and well-being, You are a wicked person to abandon your parents. Even if your conduct is gentle and your mind is peaceful, You are more shameful than ordinary people. Cultivate loving-kindness that wishes happiness for sentient beings, And compassion that wishes them to be free from suffering. Do not just leave it as a thought, It is very important to put it into practice. Since you want to establish yourself in supreme enlightenment, The sound of just saying "Buddha" is not enough. In the nature of no inherent existence, Whatever arises Is in the state of compassion. Although there is nothing to accomplish, you should still strive to accomplish it. In the state of whatever appears, without any object of focus, Pure appearance, impartial, self-arisen, one. The glorious Lama showed it to me, a person. Experiencing that, one joy arose. Son, you too should learn this. In the yoga of single-pointed mindfulness, Apart from the arising and liberation of birth, Even the traces of subject and object are pacified. Empty the city of artificial thoughts. All conceptualization and analysis end at that boundary. Whatever arises, let it be meditated on without fabrication. However you fabricate it, it is still there. Movement dissolves into the state of emptiness. The desire for equipoise and post-equipoise vanishes. One's own state, without anything to abide in. Ordinary thoughts are decisively cut off. There is nothing that does not arise in the door of arising. It is called the yoga of vastness and expansiveness. In this meditation of decisive severance, All elaborations are in the state of non-elaboration. Favorable and unfavorable conditions become indistinguishable. Afflictions and wisdom are free from acceptance and rejection. You should be able to rely on this meaning. Sometimes leave awareness without support. Sometimes look intently at whatever appears. Sometimes restrain the way of looking in the sky. Sometimes tighten and sometimes loosen. Sometimes The object of focus is a support.
