The Collected Teachings of Tilopa TILO2: The Song of Vajra Speech 1-1-10a The Song of Vajra Speech In Sanskrit: Baka Kosha Shri Ripa Rabajra Cheta In Tibetan: Homage to youthful Manjushri! Emaho! Yoga, one-pointed, taste is equal, especially unique. Things and non-things, mind's thoughts, wandering, should be abandoned. Appearance and emptiness, uniting as one, without separation, that alone. The nature of the Dharmadhatu, all things arise and dissolve, abiding. Self and other, two without, unmindful, clear state. The names of Mahamudra, immeasurable, beyond expression. If things and non-things are completely abandoned, there is no samsara or nirvana. 1-1-10b If the pond has no cover, the wheel is wide in all four directions. Children do not know, interdependent, the cause of entering samsara. Weakness of wisdom, grasping at things, self and other's benefit is not accomplished. Even if a lamp is lit, it is impossible for the blind to see. Desiring the benefit of self and other, grasping at things, one grasps oneself. Since it is thought, abandoning, not abandoning, should be examined. Non-appearance, self-awareness, free from all terms of thought. Since it is without means, self-benefit is not accomplished, it becomes a fault. Abiding in the meaning of non-separation, it is that which shows it. It shows the characteristics of entering the Dharmadhatu. Relating the oral transmission of the lama, the instruction is shown accordingly. Desiring to realize one's own characteristics through scripture and reasoning, Rely on the lama, found from those who possess instructions. If one serves with respect, one will obtain supreme bliss. In order to be free from defilement, prostrate at the feet of the lama. The Victorious Ones have said that offering brings great blessings. Emaho! Like the city of Oshamkusu, gone into the sky. If one strives for liberation, one will surely attain the ground of the Victorious Ones. What is said, what is said about, empowerment, blessings, the place of birth and growth. First, what the student should do, and the order of what the teacher should do. Afterwards, what the student should do, and the profound empowerment. Pray with mudras, offerings, and praises. Pray with pleasant words, intelligence, skill, and power. Relying on mudras, secret empowerment, and vows. 1-1-11a Giving and bestowing, and afterwards, elaboration and stability. The student offers substances, receives profound empowerment, and makes vows. And showing the stages of generation, and so on. Showing the stages of intrinsic nature. And all that should be contemplated in experience. Not abiding in anything, not clinging to anything. Without desire. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not abiding in happiness, because there is no duality, therefore there is nothing to rely on and nothing to rely upon. In the non-dual yoga, the bliss of self-arising experience, if you abandon the things of self-grasping, it will be as vast as the sky. If you want to enter the city of Nirvana, then the meeting of the six consciousnesses like rain is the great yoga. Appearance is emptiness, uncreated, meeting does not depend on any conditions. Because of the habituation of non-duality, one can quickly achieve the path, and the union will not regress. If you know that sentient beings have Buddha-nature, then there is no need to work hard. Relying on the practice of taste equality and so on, one can obtain the fruit. If you practice, there is no doubt that you can be liberated from samsara. You will be able to completely defeat the demons and the opposing forces. One should not do the yoga of signs, nor is it the yoga of abandoning equanimity. The wise will quickly gain wisdom and be able to extinguish obstacles. With the practice of signs, although proficient in provisional meaning, the foolish are bound. Relying on the great seal of taste equality, one can walk in the sky. If you constantly rely on the non-dual conduct, then you can achieve it in this life. Not abiding in the illusory realm, nor is there a realm of discrimination. The eight worldly dharmas cannot bind, it is the supreme ascetic. The practice of compassion and skillful means is as vast as the sky without attachment. The great seal is complete with four branches, it is the most supreme of skillful means. In the basis of inherent nature, the miraculous power of one seal, in the nature of one. In the nature of non-duality, relax and abide in the great seal. If you have Bodhicitta, without abandoning and abiding, it is like an elephant. If you want to make the discriminating mind appear like a mare. Then you should strive for the meaning of non-discrimination and non-appearance, and practice yoga. The four bodies are complete, it is the fruit of great bliss. In the appearance of arising, the path causes the bodies To complete the three bodies, free from discrimination. Awareness and what is aware of, is the realm of self-continuum purity. The nature of things, although appearing as the cause of arising. But it does not go beyond the realm of the unborn. For things, non-things, abandoning and abiding, and so on. There is no distinction, it is the realm of non-mind and non-birth. The great seal is always devoid of characteristics. Because the aggregates are pure, it transcends the secret realm. The characteristics of the four joys are the realm of the great seal. It is not self-continuum, it is separated from wisdom and means. If you fail to grasp the tip of the nose and so on. Even if you practice in those places, it is not ultimate. Self-luminous Vajra abides, this is the yoga of Bodhisattva. This is the nature of omniscience, there is no such thing. Like the waves of the ocean, it is similar to the nature of separation. Just by saying it, you cannot reach anywhere. The practice of vows and the combination of fruits. The signifier and the signified are the path of words. If the vows are broken, then the means are also lost. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
