Averting Curses and Evil Speech, a Doma Ritual by Guru Padmasambhava. Averting Curses and Evil Speech, a Doma Ritual by Guru Padmasambhava. Homage to the Three Roots! If a person is afflicted by the harshness of human speech, excessive attachment, decline, sudden misfortunes, or hatred, the profound instructions for averting these through the Doma ritual are as follows: Scatter black mustard seeds on a black foundation. In the center, create a representation of the 'mouth of human speech,' covering it with a black cloth. Inside its belly, write: 'Om Maha Kalaya Svaha Om, Great Black One, Svaha)'. Write: 'The place of existence, the interval of beings, the mouth of harmful spirits, the mouth of hateful thoughts, the mouth of arising occurrences, the mouth of loving attachment, the mouth of market offenses, the mouths of many slanderers,' place them in a vessel, seal it, and say Svaha. Adorn it with various bird feathers. Place offerings in front. Surround it with salt, garlic, radish, ginger, turmeric, sesame seeds, lentils, peas, mustard, onions, cheese, and molasses. Offer chang (Tibetan beer), gold, turquoise, and conch shells. Include a blind guest effigy, an armor with nine eyes, arrow shafts, roasted barley flour, a sheep's horn, and a skull. Also, surround it with all nine broken things and ten crippled things. Finally, erect a tiger skin and a mixture of brains, adorned with colored silks. Then, straighten your posture and visualize your chosen deity. Bless the offering substances with the six-syllable mantra and the six mudras, and recite the following: 'Bhyo! King of Human Speech, Bird-Beaked One! I entrust the fortress to your hands. Please come to Yas and Sog! To the owner of the wealth and resources.' 'From where did human speech originate? Where did human speech fall in the middle? Where does human speech reside in the end? In the past, in that ancient time, to the Dharma King Dondrup, the seven, including Lhajin, cast curses of evil human speech. At that time, Manjushri, skilled in all, transformed into an eight-year-old boy, accumulating various human speeches, pacifying various human speeches. Just as King Dondrup and his retinue were liberated from those human speeches, may the owner of wealth and resources today also be liberated from those human speeches. How did human speech arise in the beginning? Where did human speech fall in the middle? To King Indra Bodhi, the human speech of all beings gathered, causing various ailments and bad omens. The great king became enraged, and in the palace, the learned teacher and Khenpo Bodhisattva accumulated the evil speech of human mouths, on the path of...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When it is pacified, King Indrabhūti also becomes liberated from gossip, may the patrons offering today also be liberated from gossip. Then, where did the gossip go? At Pāgor Vairocana's place, all the gossip of China gathered, and various bad omens appeared. The teacher Śrī Siṃha collected the fragments of gossip and discarded them at the crossroads of the road, Pāgor Vairocana also became liberated from gossip, may the patrons offering today also be liberated from gossip. Then, where did the gossip go? At King Khri srong ldeu btsan's place, the gossip of the ministers gathered, and various bad omens were dreamed, for three days the king was not happy. Guru Padmasambhava collected the various gossips and discarded them at the crossroads of the road, King Khri srong ldeu btsan also became completely liberated from gossip, may the patrons offering today also be liberated from gossip. Then, where did the gossip go? The patrons offering and their retinue said that the gossip had ended. To this, I, the mantra holder, collected the fragments of gossip and discarded them at the crossroads of the road, may the patrons offering and their retinue also be liberated from gossip. May all wishes be fulfilled! Finally, where did the gossip go? It went to inauspicious and undoable things, to places where there are evil spirits, spreading disputes and inauspiciousness, creating various slanders and rumors. The powerful gossip, when it touches a rock, becomes dull, when it touches a lake, it dries up, when it touches a person, it creates division, spreading various rumors, attacking the lives of sentient beings. Even something as hard as a vajra is quickly destroyed by gossip. Therefore, powerful gossip, do not stay here, go elsewhere! Then, where did the gossip go? It went to inauspicious and undoable things, to bad years, wandering like the sky, falling like hail. Do not disobey the command of the mantra holder, do not violate the vows of the Three Jewels. Then, where did the gossip go? On this road at the doorstep, the demons of father and son appeared, the evil spirits within the family appeared, go to other names, do not go to other families. Initially, a son of one gossip, now it is being deprived like a family, there is no good or bad between father and son. Therefore, go to other families! Now where to go? On this road at the doorstep, the subjects received the king's command, the villagers had disputes, do not go within the villagers. Initially, a follower of one king, all plans and deliberations become unified. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
