The Essence of Empowerment Blessings from the Great Accomplished One's Heart Drop Homage to the all-pervading lord, the wheel-turning accomplished one, the immutable Thangtong Gyalpo (a great accomplished master of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism)! The ripening associated with his Vajra Yoga: In a secluded place, in the center of the mandala, arrange the outer, inner, and secret implements. Accomplish, recite, and offer the tsok (gathering) and torma (ritual cake), precede self-entry, have the disciples bathe and sit in order. Bind with a protective wheel to ward off obstacles, offer a mandala to connect the lineage, may the all-pervading Vajrasattva (Tibetan, Sanskrit: Vajrasattva, the Buddha representing the Great Mirror Wisdom among the Five Wisdom Buddhas of the Vajra realm) and the inseparable glorious lama be mindful! Grant the kindness of entering and ripening in the supreme city of great liberation! With this supplication, bestow the three vows. Then, visualize oneself as the deity, and with incense and music, invoke the wisdom beings. Oṃ! Essence Dharmakaya Amitābha (Tibetan, Sanskrit: Amitābha, the Buddha who presides over the Western Pure Land), nature Sambhogakaya Avalokiteśvara (Tibetan, Sanskrit: Avalokiteśvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion), with compassion Nirmanakaya Tötreng Tsal (Thangtong Gyalpo's guru), inseparable accomplished Heruka (Tibetan, Sanskrit: Heruka, Wrathful Deity)! Root lineage lamas, yidam deities, and the assembly of heroes and dakinis, from the mandala complete with the three abodes, for the sake of bestowing the empowerment of the empty vase of appearance, in the dance of playing in the illusory net, descend from the marks and signs. Please bestow blessings in this supreme place, may appearance and sound transform the three realms into deity and mantra, and the great wisdom of Dharmakaya, grant the supreme and common siddhis! Kāya jñāna vajra āveśaya ā ā ā! Hūṃ hūṃ hūṃ! After stabilizing, the vase empowerment: Oṃ! In the city of the primordially pure youthful vase body, the spontaneously accomplished mandala of rainbow light points arises, with the empowerment of the nectar of union and great compassion, may the appearance of the body transform into the Nirmanakaya! Root mantra, and Kalaśa abhiṣiñca oṃ! Afterwards, repay the vow with the face of marks and signs, place it on the crown of the head and bless it. Ah! From the mandala of the body of the great accomplished one, the sixteen dakinis who bestow bliss of the near lineage play, appearing in the form of pure channels and essences, bestow the empowerment of the deathless vidyadhara accomplishment! Kāya abhiṣiñca oṃ! In the order of arising appearance and emptiness, hold the mind, practice, and proclaim purity. Oṃ! In the space of the mandala of the five realms of the mother, the stream of Bodhicitta possessing five wisdoms, with the empowerment of inseparable bliss of method and wisdom, may the winds and mantras transform into the Sambhogakaya! Bodhicitta Abhiṣiñca Āḥ! Subsequently, place the garland of letters of Ādikādi around the throat. Āḥ!
