What do you think? Now let me introduce. If all sentient beings are our parents, then to obtain (good) rebirths, we must take countless rebirths. Therefore, there is no sentient being who has not been our parent. Because they are our parents, to repay their kindness, cultivate loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment (Bodhicitta). If we recognize them as our parents, we will not generate thoughts of hostility, hatred, or harm. If these thoughts arise, it is because we have not recognized them as our parents. So, we should continue to train ourselves to recognize our parents. In short, whether or not we recognize them as our parents can be known by whether or not we have experienced rebirths. Whether or not we perceive them as parents can be known by whether or not we generate ghostly illusions. Second, introducing illusory appearances: Let us observe whether these appearances are true or false. If someone says they are true, that is not understanding. If someone says they are false, that is seeing the essence. Now let me introduce. If these appearances were true, then they should be eternal and indestructible. However, because they are impermanent and perishable, they are false. Daytime appearances are destroyed by dreams, dreams are destroyed by daytime appearances, happiness is destroyed by suffering, the previous moment is destroyed by the next moment, and the next moment destroys the previous moment. Therefore, we should train ourselves to recognize the impermanence of illusory appearances. If we recognize them as false, we will not generate true attachment to gods and demons. If true attachment arises, it is because we have not recognized their falsity. So, we should train ourselves to recognize illusory appearances. Therefore, whether or not we recognize the truth or falsity of appearances can be known by whether or not they perish. Whether or not we are proficient in illusory appearances can be known by whether or not we generate attachment. Third, the generation stage deity yoga: If we visualize our mind as a deity, can we see the image of the deity? If someone says they cannot see it, that is not understanding. If someone says they can see it, that is seeing the essence. Now let me introduce. If appearances were not the nature of the deity, then even if we visualize, they would not appear as the deity. However, because visualization causes us to see the image of the deity, appearances are the nature of the deity. Because all phenomena, aggregates, elements, and sources are the nature of the deity, we visualize as the deity. Therefore, if we can see the image of the deity, we will not generate attachment to ghosts. If attachment to ghosts arises, it is because we have not recognized the deity. So, we should continue to practice deity yoga. Therefore, whether or not appearances are the nature of the deity can be known by whether or not we can see the image of the deity. Whether or not we are proficient in deity yoga can be known by whether or not we generate ghostly illusions. So, ask yourself. Fourth, the guidance of the completion stage non-dual yoga: Do you think your mind is dualistic or non-dual? Let us observe. If someone says it is dualistic, that is not understanding. If someone says it is non-dual, that is seeing the essence. Now let me introduce. If it were dualistic, then it should be independently existent and eternal. However, because appearances and emptiness, etc., are not independently existent and dualistic, therefore... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 60-3-4b

Since all dharmas are the sole vehicle of non-duality (Advaya, non-duality), practice non-duality. Therefore, if you master non-duality, dualistic clinging to gods and demons will not arise. If it arises, it means you have not yet mastered it, so practice non-duality. Therefore, whether it is non-dual or not can be known by whether duality is established or not. Whether non-duality is realized or not can be known by whether dualistic clinging arises or not. Ask yourself. Athi. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
