The Great Treasure, TD2063, 'Summoning the Vital Essence: Immortal Vidyadhara' Composed by Kalsang Yarlung Tulku. Extensive Activity Section, Summoning the Vital Essence. Summoning the Vital Essence: Immortal Vidyadhara' Composed by Kalsang Yarlung Tulku. Om, may there be auspiciousness! To the Lama, Deities, and Immortal Divine Assembly, the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, the Three Jewels, and all other objects of refuge, I prostrate from the depths of my heart, may you protect until the end of existence. Here, to summon back all the vital essence, life force, and fortune of embodied beings that have been taken, robbed, stolen, naturally diminished, wandered away, or deteriorated by the Lord of Death, demons, Yama, Tsen spirits, MaMo, Teurang, Gyalpo spirits, and Gongpo spirits—in short, by human and non-human messengers—there are two parts: the ritual and the main practice. First, in front of the Lama, the Three Jewels, and other objects of refuge, arrange offerings and tormas. In the center of a clean white cloth, pile about three measures of rice or barley that has not been damaged by hail. On top of it, erect an arrow adorned with undamaged vulture feathers, five-colored silk, and a mirror that reflects the clarity of existence and non-existence. In the four directions and four intermediate directions around it, draw Yungdrung (swastika) symbols with barley. To the east, offer a golden beverage adorned with jewels and silk; to the south, offer rice mixed with the 'three whites'; to the west, offer roasted barley flour mixed with the 'three sweets'; to the north, offer a white, round torma with four petals, filled with pure water. These are the auspicious and pure offerings. In the center, on a white lambskin, if it is a male, place the left thigh of a male sheep; if it is a female, place the right thigh of a female sheep, with the meat complete. Also, place roasted barley cakes. To the right of it, erect a golden arrow; to the left, erect a turquoise arrow. On the thigh meat, place the patron's hat, raised up. In addition, gather various fruits, the 'three whites,' fine meat wine, and other foods. Also, place fine ornaments and clothing. Second, the main practice: On an auspicious star and a good morning, first perform the preliminaries such as taking refuge, generating Bodhicitta, and meditating on the four immeasurables, and then offer the Lama Choepa. Second, starting from the evening, offer tormas to the Yidam and Dharma Protectors, and pray for the fulfillment of wishes. At sunset, dedicate tormas to the local deities, offer golden beverages, and offer auspicious and pure offerings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then, they blessed with the six-syllable mantra and six mudras, and offered aspirations and entrustments, saying: 'Alas! Today the stars in the sky are auspicious, the earth is warm, and conditions are favorable. On this night at dusk, may the Lamas, Yidams, Dakinis, as well as the Dharma protectors, local deities, and earth lords, reside here as the protectors and steadfast support of the yogi (the owner of the offering). We offer worship, prostrations, and take refuge! We pray for the blessings of the Lamas who have inherited the teachings of Sutra, Tantra, and various fields of knowledge. May the Yidam deities of the mandala of peaceful and wrathful deities, related to the four classes of Tantra, provide support. May the heroes and Dakinis residing in places, locations, fields, and the eight great charnel grounds, bestow blessings. May the oath-holders, the ocean-like army of Dharma protectors who guard the teachings of scripture and realization, provide protection and shelter. May the local deities and earth lords who protect and constantly uphold this place and other places, create harmonious conditions.' 'Ki Ki So So, Gods be victorious!' 'Alas! May the life of this benefactor be free from the harm of the Lord of Death, Yama, ghosts, as well as spirits, humans, and non-humans, the seventy-five protectors of pure lineage, the eighty thousand obstacles of being robbed, stolen, attacked, as well as natural decay and wandering. From the highest peak of existence to the lowest of the eighteen hells, and the intermediate three thousand worlds, wherever they may be in the upper, lower, or intermediate directions, I am now recalling life. May I, the yogi, have companions! By the blessings of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas residing in the invisible space of Dharmadhatu, and the unfailing truth of interdependent origination and the power of pure intention, may this place be accomplished tonight!' 'Alas! To Brahma, Indra, and the other ten directional guardians with their retinues, we offer this auspicious and pure offering, may the directional guardians not lose the life of the person from their hands. To the great powerful deities such as Maheshvara and the other eight great gods with their retinues, we offer auspicious offerings, may the gods not lose the life of the person from their hands. To the eight great Nagas such as Nanda and Upananda with their retinues, we offer auspicious offerings, may the Nagas not lose the life of the person from their hands. To the eight great planets such as the Sun and Moon with their retinues, we offer auspicious offerings, may the planets not lose the life of the person from their hands. To the twenty-eight constellations such as Krittika and Rohini with their retinues, we offer auspicious offerings, may the constellations not lose the life of the person from their hands. To the four great kings, Dhritarashtra, Virudhaka, Virupaksha, and Vaishravana, with their retinues, we offer auspicious offerings, may the four great kings not lose the life of the person from their hands.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
