The root empowerment of the Essence Practice of the Heart Essence of Hayagriva is a profound treasure from the Great Treasure Revealer Taksham Dorje, arising from the Great Perfection Essence Practice of the Heart Essence. Since it appears that Taksham himself gradually practiced the deity empowerments and other combinations that arise from it, if one does so, one should also supplement the complete deity mandala etc. mentioned below during the subjugation practice. During the actual empowerment, the Vajra Master says at the end of the empowerment: 'Please believe that you have merged into it, indivisibly.' Then, holding the forms of the five Heruka yab-yum: Hrīḥ. Self-existing Wangchen, in the crown chakra, Vajra Heruka yab-yum in the body of great bliss. With great joy arising in succession, may I destroy the demons of the skandhas and gain the power of the eighth bhumi! Vajra Ḍāka Ḍākinī abhiṣiñca Āḥ. Hrīḥ. Self-existing Wangchen, in the throat chakra, Ratna Heruka yab-yum in the body of emptiness and clarity. With intense joy arising in succession, may I destroy the demons of the gods and gain the power of the ninth bhumi! Ratna Ḍāka Ḍākinī abhiṣiñca Āḥ. Hrīḥ. Self-existing Wangchen, in the navel chakra, Padma Heruka yab-yum bestowing empowerment. Fierce heat and bliss spontaneously blazing, arising in succession. Self-existing Wangchen, in the secret place chakra, Karma Heruka yab-yum bestowing empowerment. Then, the empowerment of the four gatekeepers and the four boundary goddesses: Jaḥ. White-faced Khagdong, holding an iron hook to perform actions. Yellow pig-faced, holding a noose to perform actions. Southern gate guardian, through the increasing empowerment, may I gain the power to accomplish all binding actions! Green owl-faced, holding a bell to perform actions. Northern gate guardian, through the wrathful empowerment, may I gain the power to subdue and liberate all through intoxicating wrath!
