Collected Teachings of Doronatha Master JT130 Black Yamāntaka Instruction Manual, Shang Tradition 6-259 ༄༅། ། Black Yamāntaka Instruction Manual, Shang Tradition ༄༅། ། Black Yamāntaka Instruction Manual Shang Tradition ༄༅། ། I prostrate to the glorious Yamāntaka, and respectfully prostrate to the supreme Lama. Based on the eighteen chapters of the root tantra, I will write the meaning of the completion stage. Here, if there are those who wish to practice the tantra of glorious Yamāntaka, those who have the capacity for the completion stage, and wish to practice the supreme deity, they must know the four yogas as taught by the teacher Devākaracandra. However, since there is no Tibetan writing on the method of instruction for this, it is not well-known. Therefore, following the oral instructions of the Lama and the commentaries of the predecessors, I will briefly explain it. As stated in the sadhana, one can practice bindu yoga or roughly visualize the mandala deity, keeping the mind undistracted in each part, which is the individual gathering. When the mind is slightly grasped, focusing on the complete and rough visualization of the deity is the first branch of the fivefold contemplation - vitarka. Focusing the mind in detail on the subtle form of the deity is vicāra. From this, joy arises in the mind, which is joy. The bliss of physical pliancy arises, which is bliss. When the clear appearance of the deity naturally arises, and the mind abides without conceptualization, it is the branch of one-pointedness. If one cannot fully meditate on the mandala, it is sufficient to focus the mind on the sequence arising from the condensed four yogas. Then, bless the secret space, and focus the mind on the bodhicitta, like a red pearl, expanding in the sky, and forcefully stop the breath. 6-260 Also, visualize the syllable (Tibetan: བྷྲུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: भ्रुं, Sanskrit Romanization: bhrūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: seed syllable) clearly inside the jewel, and draw the downward dripping substance upwards. Focus the mind on the bindu in the sky, like dew, falling on the syllable (Tibetan: བྷྲུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: भ्रुं, Sanskrit Romanization: bhrūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: seed syllable), and practice life force exertion. From this, the five signs arise, which is holding. Also, the bodhicitta radiates outwards from the jewel's hole, transforming into an eight-cornered jewel shape, half entering the father and half entering the mother's nadi gate, focus the mind on this. When it is slightly stable, the half-half rays of that jewel fill the bodies of the father and mother respectively, radiating outwards from the pores.

To emanate, and also to gather, immeasurably emanating hand symbols such as the wheel, lotus, and vajra. Similarly, in the place of the jewel, by meditating on the distinctions of the other hand symbols of the five families, that very object of focus will transform into many forms. Again, the Buddhas are placed into the mouth, and in the heart, they become the mind of enlightenment. From the junction, the forms of hand symbols such as the wheel are later emanated. Again, one holds the mind on the junction where they are again gathered and abide. The emanation and gathering of the wheel is the recollection of the body of the Buddha. The emanation and gathering of the lotus is the recollection of the speech of the Dharma. The emanation and gathering of the vajra is the recollection of the vajra of the mind. The emanation and gathering of the sword and so forth is the recollection of the family. Emanating the forms of the thirteen deities is the recollection of the wrathful ones. Meditating on bliss is the recollection of the samaya, these are six. It is a branch of recollection. Again, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are invited and placed into the mouth. In the heart, they become a bindu on top of the moon. The bindu of the junction is also drawn upwards, and it dissolves into the bindu of the heart. That very bindu is to be emanated and gathered, it is a branch of samadhi. These are the yoga of the beginning. Then, if it is a complete mandala, it is gathered. If it is not like that, the celestial mansion and the main deity are generated to perfection in an instant, and the remaining branches are made complete. In the heart, one meditates on Hūṃ on the sun disc, it is a branch of individual analysis. From that, light is emanated, it is a branch of obtaining appearance. From that, the three realms are emanated and spread. Gathering it back and meditating on it as mind-only is one aspect of meaning. Those four are focused on mantra. Placing the Hūṃ, where the rays of light are gathered back, as inseparable from clarity and emptiness, is focusing on the mind. Again, obtaining the light that has radiated forth, from that, the accomplished purpose spreads. The unmoving one arising from Hūṃ is the meaning of the path of seeing. It is analyzing the body vajra birth source. "These things are unborn," and so forth, and, "If body, speech, and mind are focused on," and so forth, reciting and meditating on emptiness is analyzing the speech vajra birth source. By moving the downward cleanser upwards, the Bhrūṃ of the junction reaches the tip of the nose through the central channel. From the blue vajra, the center of a grain.
