Pay attention, messenger! If you don't practice Dharma, merely cultivating weariness of impermanence and suffering won't help. Obstacles to entering the Dharma are like these: thinking you are incapable, or thinking you are not free now, being controlled by others, and remaining in a state of procrastination. Being arrogant or feeling discouraged, not believing or wasting time. Abandon these and immediately begin practicing. Black and white karma does not deceive, so cultivate careful discernment of what to abandon and adopt. For the sake of servants, family, relatives, and politics, even if you commit evil deeds, the ripening will be borne by yourself alone. Others cannot take even a small share. Therefore, do not rejoice in evil for the sake of others. Unable to tolerate even small harm to yourself, yet having the cruel capacity to dismember others. For the sake of mere food and drink, you even kill living beings. Completely abandon selfish and harmful actions, and with good deeds, strive to create happiness for yourself and others, and for all beings in all places. The six realms of beings are kind parents, so strive to generate altruistic intention towards all. Generating love and compassion for beings is the root of all Dharmas, so meditate on this most important practice with diligence. Do not immediately generate harmful thoughts and resentment, and if it benefits beings, do not harm others without reason. Like a madman, the mind is not in control, driven by your own karma to become an enemy. Relying on yourself, you are blinded by hatred for the enemy. Parents going to hell is truly pitiful. Thinking in this way, you can pacify evil thoughts. The root of the path is Guru Yoga, pray with sincere faith and strong longing. All obstacles are removed only through Guru Yoga, and all accomplishments are attained only through Guru Yoga. Accomplish all the intentions of a qualified Guru, express the devotion of your mind and the pleasantness of your speech, and with offerings and all the actions of your body, strive to please the teacher. Worldly kings, no matter how virtuous, will eventually depart, but the compassion of the holy Guru will never abandon you. Through the power of the Guru's blessings, realization arises. The blessing of Mahamudra is the path to enlightenment. Clear and without grasping, relaxed and natural. Resting in peace, cultivating calm abiding on whatever appears, and seeing your own face nakedly, cultivating insight, are the gateways to meditation, so practice diligently. Whatever arises

Here, let there be no alterations. Whatever changes occur, maintain them as they are. Whether it be the place or the movement, do not modify it. Diligently cultivate and nurture the entirety of awareness without distraction. The essence of all profound practices is to observe and seek one's own mind. From the moment of birth, it is primordially liberated. One must break the false root of not recognizing the true face. The purity of winds, mind, channels, and bindus is the path of skillful means. The deity is the manifestation of emptiness, without attachment, an illusory body. Day and night mutually enhance each other, and the darkness of sleep transforms into clear light and bliss. Whatever appears is inseparable from the Lama and Yidam. Without attachment, pure appearances, the wheel of Dharma turns without bias. No matter how much one meditates on objects, the key is to hold it with the mindfulness of recognizing one's own nature. Confessing sins, accumulating merit, rejoicing, and dedicating to increase and expand them, these four are the root of reaching higher realms and liberation. Deeply regretting past sins, and even if life is at stake, guarding vows, taking refuge and generating the supreme Bodhicitta, confessing in this way, sins will be purified. Making scriptures and Buddha images, reciting dharani mantras, meditating on emptiness, all sins will be purified. Parents, the sick, the learned, those with meditative concentration, preachers, those with wisdom, the poor, those who uphold morality, and the supreme Lama, these nine are said to be the supreme fields of merit. If one builds temples and monasteries for teaching the Dharma and practicing meditation, from that foundation, merit will greatly increase. Make vast offerings to the teachings of the Buddhas, and also diligently practice deity yoga and recite mantras. Also, make vast offerings of respect to the Sangha. The precious teachings are the only friend of beings. Where monks and the Sangha exist, they will remain for a long time. Because one does not know where the noble beings are, one should not have contempt or slander towards anyone. Passing one's life in meaningless affairs, leaving many important things unfinished. Although there are many who want to practice the Dharma, few are those who actually accomplish it. Thus, this instruction was spoken by one named Kunga Nyingpo, the lord of Norzin Wangmo (a place name, meaning "Continuum of Wealth Mother"), whose name is Ngawang Donyod (a personal name, meaning "Speech Empowerment Meaning Accomplished"), in the palace called Gongkar (present-day Gonggar County in Tibet) during the auspicious spring of good fortune. May this world be perfectly prosperous through the blessing of the truth of the Three Jewels.
