English version A ra le (ā rě liè) mama le (mó mó liè) amrita te (ā mì lì dì) akshaye (ā qǐ chā yè) aviyaye (ā wěi yě yè) punya pari yaye (bēn nǐ yě bǒ lǐ yě yè) sarva papa (sà pó bō bǒ) prashamani svaha (bō là shě me nǐ suō pó hē) arya pani (ā lī yě bàn ná) sopaki ye svaha (zào bō zhī yè suō pó hē) indra shani ye svaha (yìn nà là shè níng yè suō pó hē) megha shani svaha (míng qié shè níng suō pó hē). The World Honored One said, 'If there are men and women who receive, uphold, read, recite, write, and make offerings to these true words and phrases, then the fears of those dragon gods, lightning, etc., will not be able to harm them. There will also be no root poisons or combined poisons. All manufactured poisons will not be able to harm us and all sentient beings.' At that time, the Great Brahma King and Sakra, Lord of the Devas (Dì shì, a Dharma protector in Buddhism), the Four Guardian Kings (Hù shì sì wáng, the Four Heavenly Kings, protectors of the world in Buddhism), the Dragon Kings, and others praised, saying, 'Excellent! Excellent! Wise one, for the sake of benefiting and bringing happiness to the majority of sentient beings, you have well spoken this righteous Dharma, the Narayana (nà là mí ná) true words and phrases. We will wholeheartedly receive and uphold them.' When the Buddha spoke this sutra, all the gods and humans (tiān rén, deities and humans), Asuras (ā sū luó, a type of powerful demigod), Gandharvas (qián tà pó, celestial musicians), and other great assemblies in the entire world, hearing what the Buddha said, rejoiced and practiced accordingly.
