English version The Sutra of the Zodiac Wheel Spoken by Nandikeśvara Deva No. 1312 The Sutra of the Zodiac Wheel Spoken by Nandikeśvara Deva Translated by Dharma Bhadra, Great Master of Illuminating Doctrine, Minister of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices with the title of Chao San Da Fu, and designated as Guang Lu Qing, of the Western Heaven Translation Bureau, under Imperial Decree. At that time, Nandikeśvara Deva (自在天, the Free Lord Deva) universally observed all men and women in the world. Due to the good and evil influences of the constellations they encountered at birth, throughout their lives, they experienced varying degrees of nobility or lowliness, wealth or poverty, filial piety or loyalty, inclination towards literature or martial prowess, beauty or ugliness, foolishness or wisdom, sickness or premature death, widowhood or orphanhood, ferocity or gentleness, strength or submissiveness, upright speech or crooked behavior, a sense of shame or shamelessness, understanding of astronomy or discernment of worldly affairs, reverence for the Buddha's teachings and joy in performing good deeds, or admiration for demons, belief in heresies, and creation of evil. Some enjoyed traveling through mountains and rivers, fulfilling their nature and preserving their true selves. Others delighted in engaging in commerce, trading precious goods. Some were fond of giving alms, while others were extremely stingy. These qualities were manifested in their appearances, evident in their bodies, as whorls or moles, forming patterns. All beauty and ugliness were concentrated in one body. These were also the karmic causes from past lives, now influenced by the stars they encountered. Fearing that people might not understand, I will briefly explain. Furthermore, when the Sun is in Aries, and Mars directly illuminates the entirety of Bharani Nakshatra (娄宿), Krittika Nakshatra (胃宿), and a portion of Rohini Nakshatra (昴宿), those born on that day will have a dignified appearance and a delicate body. They will be filial to their parents and respectful to their elders. They will have many relatives and sufficient servants. They will be brave and energetic, possessing great merit. They will not suffer from hunger or cold, will delight in the Dharma, and will know shame. They will be fond of giving alms and will have a steadfast mind. Their words and actions will be truthful, and their understanding will be clear. They will be loved by the king and admired by the people. However, their eyes will be dull, and they will be greedy for sensual pleasures. They will enjoy traveling and will be wealthy throughout their lives. They will often suffer from dental diseases and jaundice. Their lifespan may be cut short in middle age. In the fourth year after birth, they may face a fire disaster. At the age of eighteen, they may also die prematurely. At the age of twenty-five, they may face the danger of tigers and wolves. They may also die at sea. When encountering the calamity of premature death, if they are illuminated by auspicious stars, their lifespan can be extended to one hundred years. English version: Finally, when the Taurus constellation is under Sukra (Venus), directly aligned with Krittika (Pleiades) for three-thirds, and Rohini and Mrigasira each for two-thirds. Males and females born on this day will have dignified appearances and slender bodies. They will have star-shaped moles on their faces, destined for great wealth and constant happiness. They will have many relatives and servants. Their temperament will be strong, and they are not suited for multiple wives or concubines. They will experience hardship in their youth, but in their later years, they will receive wealth from their parents and enjoy happiness. They will be energetic, skilled in crafts, have clear discernment, and be steadfast in their actions. They will enjoy giving alms, love delicious food, and be prone to throat ailments. At the age of twenty-five, their fate is destined for premature death. If at that time they receive the influence of a Subha Grah (benefic planet), they can transform evil into good and extend their lifespan to one hundred years. Later, they will suffer from wind-related madness. They will die in the ninth month, on a day when Budha (Mercury) and Rohini are in alignment, in a sacred place. Again, when the Gemini constellation is under Budha (Mercury), directly aligned with Mrigasira for two-thirds, and Ardra and Punarvasu each for three-thirds. Males and females born on this day will be gentle and kind by nature, and have upright appearances. Their words will be truthful and their speech quick and eloquent. They will maintain long-lasting friendships. They will have a fondness for incense and flowers, and love delicious food. They will be humorous by nature and indulge in female beauty. They will be captivated by the sight of beautiful women. Those who see various illusions will love them. Those who practice accomplishment methods will surely attain them. If they study the art of dragon control and the mantra of water, they will be most skilled in these two arts. They will experience hardship in their youth, but will gain fame and respect in middle age. From birth until the fifth year, they will face a danger of premature death. If at the time of this danger they receive the influence of a Subha Grah (benefic planet), they can transform evil into good and extend their lifespan to eighty years. In the tenth month, on a day when Budha (Mercury) and Mrigasira are in alignment, they will die from illness at noon. Again, when the Cancer constellation is under Chandra (the Moon), directly aligned with Punarvasu, Aslesha, and Magha in their entirety. Males and females born on this day will have slender bodies, gentle and kind natures, intelligence, and the ability to endure. They will be filial to their parents and receive the most love from them. They may have auspicious markings on their hands and feet, such as lotus patterns, conch patterns, wheel patterns, and auspicious fruit patterns. They will have many wives and relatives, as well as many servants. They will be humble in their youth and wealthy in their later years.
