English version: In this scripture, the immeasurable meritorious virtues of the Buddha-land of Amitayus Buddha's (无量寿佛) Sukhavati (极乐世界), which are inconceivable, are praised and extolled. Furthermore, the World Honored Ones of the ten directions, for the sake of conveniently benefiting and bringing peace to all sentient beings, each abide in their own lands, manifest great spiritual transformations, speak truthful words, and encourage all sentient beings to believe and accept this Dharma. Therefore, this scripture is named ‘The Dharma Door of All Buddhas' Embrace, Praising the Inconceivable Meritorious Virtues of the Buddha-land.’ Moreover, Sariputra (舍利子)! If a good man or a good woman, whether they have already heard, will hear, or are now hearing this scripture, after hearing it, if they deeply generate faith and understanding, having generated faith and understanding, they will certainly be embraced by the World Honored Ones of the ten directions, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River (殑伽沙, Ganges river sand). If they practice as described in the scripture, they will all certainly attain non-retrogression in Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (阿耨多罗三藐三菩提, unsurpassed perfect enlightenment), and they will all certainly be reborn in the pure Buddha-land of Amitayus Buddha's Sukhavati. Therefore, Sariputra! All of you sentient beings should believe, accept, and understand the words of myself and the World Honored Ones of the ten directions. You should diligently strive and practice as described in the scripture, without generating any doubts. Moreover, Sariputra! If a good man or a good woman, regarding the meritorious adornments of the pure Buddha-land of Amitayus Buddha's Sukhavati, whether they have already made a vow, will make a vow, or are now making a vow, they will certainly be embraced by the World Honored Ones of the ten directions, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. If they practice as described in the scripture, they will all certainly attain non-retrogression in Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi, and they will all certainly be reborn in the pure Buddha-land of Amitayus Buddha's Sukhavati. Therefore, Sariputra! If there are good men or good women with pure faith, they should all deeply believe and understand the pure Buddha-land of Amitayus Buddha's Sukhavati, make a vow to be reborn there, and not be lax or negligent. Moreover, Sariputra! Just as I am now praising and extolling the inconceivable meritorious virtues of the Buddha-land of Amitayus Buddha's Sukhavati; the World Honored Ones of the ten directions also praise my inconceivable and boundless meritorious virtues, all saying: ‘How marvelous and rare!

English version: ‘The Accomplished One (Tathagata, one of the ten epithets of the Buddha, meaning one who has achieved all virtues), the Well-Gone One (Sugata, one of the ten epithets of the Buddha, meaning one who has gone well), the Knower of the World (Lokavid, one of the ten epithets of the Buddha, meaning one who understands all worldly matters), the Unsurpassed Man (Anuttara-purusa, one of the ten epithets of the Buddha, meaning an unparalleled practitioner), the Tamer of Men (Purisadamyasarathi, one of the ten epithets of the Buddha, meaning one who is skilled in taming beings), the Teacher of Gods and Men (Sasta devamanusyanam, one of the ten epithets of the Buddha, meaning the teacher of gods and humans), the Buddha, the World-Honored One (Bhagavan, one of the ten epithets of the Buddha, meaning the most respected in the world), is able to attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment) in this world of endurance during the five turbid ages, namely the turbidity of the kalpa, the turbidity of beings, the turbidity of afflictions, the turbidity of views, and the turbidity of life, in order to conveniently benefit and bring happiness to all sentient beings, and therefore speaks this Dharma that is extremely difficult for the world to believe.’ Therefore, Sariputra! You should know that I have now attained Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi in this defiled world of endurance during the five turbid ages, in order to conveniently benefit and bring happiness to all sentient beings, and therefore speak this Dharma that is extremely difficult for the world to believe, which is extremely rare and inconceivable. ‘Moreover, Sariputra! In this defiled world of endurance during the five turbid ages, if there are virtuous men or virtuous women with pure faith who, upon hearing this Dharma that is extremely difficult for the world to believe, are able to generate faith and understanding, accept and uphold it, expound and explain it, and practice according to the teachings, you should know that such a person is extremely rare, having planted good roots in the presence of countless Buddhas. Such a person, upon the end of their life, will certainly be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, enjoying the great vehicle Dharma bliss of the pure Buddha land adorned with various merits, day and night, during the six periods, drawing near to and making offerings to Amitayus (Amitabha), traveling to the ten directions to make offerings to all Buddhas, hearing the Dharma and receiving predictions from the Buddhas, and quickly perfecting the accumulation of merit and wisdom, and swiftly attaining Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment.’ At that time, after the Bhagavan (the Blessed One) had finished speaking this sutra, the venerable Sariputra and other great Sravakas, as well as the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, countless gods, humans, Asuras (demigods), and all the great assembly, having heard what the Buddha had said, were all greatly delighted, believed, accepted, and practiced accordingly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
