Having been urged repeatedly, By the venerable, joyful spiritual friend, It was composed at Nālandā Indra Monastery. Namo Gurave (藏文:གུ་རཱ་ཝེ།,梵文天城体:गुरावे,梵文罗马拟音:gurāve,汉语字面意思: गुरु,Homage to the Guru). The definitive meaning of the supreme vehicle of the sons of Shakya, Whatever has come forth as the tradition of valid chariots, To those who instruct with immaculate, excellent wisdom, I pray to the incomparable, virtuous spiritual friend. The embodiment who ripens his own mind with scholarship, discipline, and excellence, The speech that liberates the minds of others through teaching, debating, and composing, The mind that has attained conviction through hearing, thinking, and meditating, I pray to the master of knowledge, love, and power. The mind that has abandoned attachment to the way things are, The speech that has no impediment in explaining the way things appear, The vajra body that is devoid of dualistic characteristics, I pray to the glorious lord of a hundred families. The speech that dispels the two extremes with the eye of wisdom, The embodiment that leads beings through the path of compassion, The mind that always adheres to the Middle Way, I pray to the one who makes the heart of the Buddha's teachings. The body of the spontaneously pure, fully enlightened Buddha, The speech of the adventitiously pure, great bliss, With the profound, clear, and free from all elaborations compassion, I pray to the master who leads many beings. With the altruistic intention to liberate mothers from existence, Whatever deeds of body, speech, and mind there may be, For the benefit and happiness of the precious Buddha's teachings, I pray to the one who performs that service. Having relied on a virtuous spiritual friend in this way, With the compassion of knowing the six realms of beings as parents, And the wisdom of distinguishing between what to adopt and abandon in terms of karma and its effects, Bless me to turn my mind towards the Dharma. Having determined that the root of all worldly prosperity, Is the great darkness of ignorance, With the lamp of blazing selflessness wisdom, Bless me to enjoy the sacred Dharma on the path. Even a single part of the supreme mind of enlightenment, Having ascertained that it is the cause of benefit and happiness for all beings, With the diligence of thinking only of the welfare of others, Bless me to eliminate the delusions of the path. Whatever chain of good and bad thoughts may arise, Having known them to be the stains that obscure the nature of reality, From within the state of non-conceptual samadhi, all illusory appearances, Bless me to arise as wisdom itself. Thus, the virtuous spiritual friend, And the vajra master, The one who embodies both, With devotion that remembers kindness, Words of offering, praise, and supplication for accomplishment. At the urging of Sonam Gyalchok Rabten Pal, Composed by the excellent wisdom of Chokden Lekpai. By the single profound path of the lama, to the sky, Quickly to the realm of the dakinis. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
