During solitary retreat, in the early morning, due to seeing Haspo Mountain in sight, visions arose. On the summit of Gare Rimaqi, the feet of Khenpo, teachers, lords, and subjects had trod, demons were subdued, and peaceful practices were performed, and so forth, many such histories appeared. However, all of these now exist only in name. Believing that all such compounded things are impermanent, even though calculating to live a few more years without dying, thinking that there is no certainty of not going to the next world even tomorrow, immeasurable sadness and renunciation arose. Remembering the lords and subjects of Oddiyana (Ugyen, Padmasambhava), a flood of immeasurable tears arose, and this became the cause. At that time, in order to fundamentally urge the mind, in conjunction with supplications, taking the method of liberation through the light of the Bardo as the root verses, this aspiration that can be recited was written by the rays of light of the detached Khyentse.
