In this snowy land of Tibet, thanks to the fruition of the aspirations and activities of the three incarnate Khenpos (Śāntarakṣita), Acharyas (Padmasambhava), and Dharma Kings (Trisong Detsen), in general, the scriptures and commentaries of the Buddhas, and in particular, from places like the land of the Ḍākinīs of Oḍḍiyāna, countless outer and inner tantras were invited to the land of snow. The incarnate translators, paṇḍitas, scholars, and accomplished ones, like an ocean of sangha, translated them into Tibetan, and then collated and finalized them. The great master of Oḍḍiyāna, Guru Padmasambhava, traversed the entire land of Tibet with his feet. In order to heal the decline of the environment and beings of Tibet in later generations, he concealed immeasurable Dharma teachings, represented by the Guru, Dzogchen, and Thukdam, as treasures, and strengthened them with aspiration prayers. As prophesied, the names, places, times, necessities, etc., of the treasure revealers, such as the twenty-five disciples of the king, who were the beginning of the hundred accomplished ones of Tibet, and their incarnations and reincarnations, were individually foretold. Later, the incarnate treasure revealers appeared in succession, inviting from each treasure site the sādhana cycles of countless three roots of deities, and the profound secret instructions, such as the stages of awakening the fortunate and destined ones in the three doors to the nature of the three vajras, through the three gates of generation stage, completion stage, and Dzogchen, which are the supporting dharmas for them. Each treasure teaching of each treasure revelation possesses the complete and unerring path of liberation, the blessings of the Nine-Lineage Vidyādhara lineage, the warmth of the near lineage has not faded, the pool of accomplishments of the immeasurable assembly of peaceful and wrathful deities of the mandala has not dried up, the root of the activities of the heroes and Ḍākinīs of the three places and the Dharma protectors with vows has not declined, and for the fortunate disciples who have pure aspirations, as their share, the manifestation of the inexhaustible great treasure of Dharma is constantly arising. The great chariot of the five treasuries, rare to appear in the three times. The incarnate play of the great translator Vairocana, Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thayé, compiled most of the profound treasures from the beginning of all treasure revelations—Sangye Lingpa to Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa—into one place, calling it the Dharma of "The Great Treasury of Precious Treasures."

A large temple was newly built. The empowerment of maturation, the guidance of liberation, and the lifeblood of the lineage with its supporting transmissions were established. The general teachings of Buddhism and the profound early translation treasure teachings were established from their foundations. They were made to flourish and spread by the heart sons and disciples. The lord of the practice lineage teachings, Palpung Situ Pema Wangchok Gyalpo, newly created the woodblock print of the Great Treasury of Precious Treasures at Palpung Monastery. Similarly, the crown jewel of accomplished vidyadharas, the 7th Gyalwang Karmapa, Karma Kunzang Khakyab Rangjung Dewei Dorje, newly created the woodblock print of the Great Treasury of Precious Treasures at Tsurphu Monastery. In addition, from the presence of that lord, when bestowing the ripening and liberating empowerments of the Great Treasury of Precious Treasures, he compiled the necessary supplementary explanations and introductions into a concise and clear form, creating a new volume called "The Wish-Fulfilling Treasure Vase," which contains the number of the Four Noble Truths. Most Nyingma vidyadharas have been bestowing the ripening and liberating practices of the Great Treasury of Precious Treasures based on this written record. Therefore, that holy being is definitely a great being who has been extremely kind to the teachings of the Nyingma treasure tradition. In short, the lineage of the Five Great Treasuries was propagated by the heart sons and disciples through empowerments, transmissions, and texts, and it will not decline even in the distant future. Later, Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and Kyabje Penor Rinpoche re-published the Tsurphu edition, using it as the basis for the Karma edition. More recently, under the guidance of Kyabje Rabjam Rinpoche, a computerized edition of the Great Treasury of Precious Treasures was produced. Although some versions of the Great Treasury of Precious Treasures still exist, according to the aspiration of Kyabje Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, the activities of these holy beings have spread throughout the world. Due to intercontinental air travel and other reasons, it has become difficult to carry large quantities of texts, and many ancient features such as towering libraries and paper texts are facing replacement by modern information technology.
