The Guru's Heart Practice, Dispeller of All Obstacles, Chapter Six: A Clear Explanation of the Sadhana of Guru Manjushri, Lion of Speech - Bestowing the Glory of Intelligence. By Chokgyur Lingpa. The Guru's Heart Practice, Dispeller of All Obstacles, Chapter Six, entitled A Clear Explanation of the Sadhana of Guru Manjushri, Lion of Speech - Bestowing the Glory of Intelligence, is complete. Homage to Guru Manjushri, Lion of Speech! With the innate wisdom sword, may the net of ignorance be dispelled. May the light of intelligence greatly increase, and may those who wish to attain omniscience enter here. Herein, from the sixth chapter of the Guru's Heart Practice, Oral Instructions, Heart Essence, it is said: Meditating and practicing the guru inseparable from Manjushri, Lion of Speech, there are three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. First, in the place where one practices, arrange representations of body, speech, and mind. Surround the torma with various foods, mainly white round cakes, the three white substances, and the three sweet substances. Prepare an abundance of offerings such as medicine, alcohol, and articles of enjoyment. Perform the common preliminary practices swiftly, like a spark. Second, the main practice has five parts. First, the generation stage: Ah! Dharmakaya, the expanse of suchness, in the state of clear light. Sambhogakaya, unceasing, the display of all appearances, the play of compassion. Nirmanakaya, the causal samadhi, white HRIH (ཧྲཱིཿ, hrīḥ, seed syllable). From that, light radiates, purifying the perception of container and contents as real. In the center of the vajra fence formed by the elements stacked in layers. From BHRUM (བྷྲཱུྃ, bhrūṃ, seed syllable) arises a precious palace, complete with characteristics. At the center, on a lotus, sun, and moon seat of various colors. From HRIH (ཧྲཱིཿ, hrīḥ, seed syllable) arises the Lion of Speech, a pandita. White, clear, radiant, bright, blazing with glory. The two hands at the heart in the mudra of teaching the Dharma. In the lotus calyx at the level of the ears, amidst lotus stamens. On the right is a volume containing the collected Tripitaka, and on the left a book marked with a secret mantra phurba. Wearing the robes of a monk, and a red pandita hat. Visualize as a form that expands vast wisdom. On the eight petals and filaments of the lotus around the outside. To the east, Manjushri Hero, body color white. To the south, Lord of Speech, saffron color. To the west, Master of Speech, body color red. To the north, Vajra Sharp.
