If the aggregates do not exist, then that does not exist either. The Tathagata is not one who possesses aggregates. What is the Tathagata? Isn't it the case that the five-fold distinctions were taught? Therefore, if this becomes twenty-five parts, how does it become twenty parts? Answer: The divisions of the view of the collection of destructibles are established in the Sutra Pitaka. Since one cannot manifestly cling to a self without grasping the aggregates, one engages with the aggregates through the four aspects, such as "form is self." Thus, since there is no manifest clinging to a self in anything other than the aggregates, the fifth view of the collection of destructibles is impossible. Therefore, the view of the collection of destructibles is only twenty parts. In the treatise, it says: "The fifth aspect, which is the aspect of otherness, is taught in order to refute the tenets of the non-Buddhists," it should be understood. Because the view of the collection of destructibles is definitely twenty parts. With the wisdom vajra that realizes selflessness, The self that perishes together with what is destroyed, Abiding on the stable mountain of the view of the collection of destructibles, These are the peaks that have become high. The sutra says: "The twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the collection of destructibles were destroyed by the wisdom vajra, and the fruit of stream-entry was manifested." Therefore, the mountain of the view of the collection of destructibles, where the vajra of noble wisdom has not descended, increases the rocks of afflictions day by day. Having arisen from beginningless samsara, it is therefore high in the three realms. Since it pervades all aspects, it is stable. Arising from the golden ground of ignorance, the peak has become extremely high, these are the twenty that were mentioned above. Third, refuting the inexpressible self. First, stating the former position: Some people assert that the person is substantially existent, neither different nor permanent or impermanent, inexpressible, They consider it to be the object of the six consciousnesses, And also consider it to be the basis for clinging to self. Some, revered by many noble ones, say: The person should not be different from the aggregates, because grasping a person apart from the aggregates is not established. Nor is it the nature of the aggregates, because it would entail the fault of arising and ceasing. Therefore, it is inexpressible as being neither the same as nor different from the aggregates. How is it?

Just as it cannot be said to be the same or different, because it would fall into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, so it cannot be said to be either permanent or impermanent. A person should be considered substantially existent, because they are said to be the agent and the eater, and because they are related to samsara and nirvana, bondage and liberation. That person is not knowable by their own nature, but is known through the six sense bases, such as form, as objects of consciousness. Therefore, they are also the knowable object of the six consciousnesses, and are also considered the basis or object of self-grasping. To refute this, there are two parts: the main body and the conclusion. The first part is further divided into three points: if it is established as substantially existent, it is not inexpressible; if it is inexpressible, it is shown to be nominally existent; because it lacks the characteristics of a real entity, it is shown that the self is not established. The first point is: Because what is substantially existent is not inexpressible, just as the mind in relation to form is not inexpressible, similarly, if some self were established as a real entity, it would not be inexpressible like the mind. Because whatever exists as a real entity is not inexpressible as the same or different, since other aspects are not reasonable, just as the mind is not the same as or different from form. Therefore, if the self were established as a real entity, like the mind, it would not be inexpressible as the same as or different from form and so on. The second point is: Just as the real entity of a pot, from form and so on, becomes without inherent existence because it is inexpressible, so too, the self becomes inexpressible from the aggregates, so do not think of it as existing by its own nature. Just as the real entity of a pot, from its own collection of form and so on, becomes without inherent existence because it cannot be said to be the same or different, similarly, if the self also cannot be said to be the same or different from the aggregates, then it should not be thought of as inherently existent, but should be understood as merely imputed. The third point is: Consciousness, which is substantially existent, is not other than itself, and it is asserted to be other than form and so on. Because these two aspects of sameness and difference are seen in things, therefore, the self does not exist, because it is separate from the characteristics of real entities. Just as consciousness, which is substantially existent, is not other than itself, and just as it becomes other than form and so on, because these two aspects of sameness and difference are seen in things, therefore, because of your

These are not real, because they are devoid of the nature of reality, like the son of a barren woman. Second, the conclusion of the refutation: Therefore, the basis of self-grasping is not a real thing, it is not different from the aggregates, it is not the nature of the aggregates, it is not the support of the aggregates, and this (self) does not possess them (the aggregates). Why? Because if analyzed in this way, it is not reasonable for a person to exist as a substance. Therefore, the basis or object of self-grasping, if examined closely, is not real, nor is it different from the aggregates, nor is it the nature of the aggregates. It does not rely on the aggregates, and this self should not be associated with the aggregates. Conclusion of the refutation.
