If it is said that sprouts of rice arise from seeds of barley, etc.? Even if it is the same continuum, but not a producing cause, like the later moment is not like the earlier moment, therefore, the fault of everything arising from everything is not like that. Then, these proofs that establish other differences are also not established as being the same as what is to be established, therefore the answer is not correct. How is it not established like what is to be established? For example, barley, saffron, and cassia, etc., those that have no ability, are not the same continuum, and are not similar, just as it is considered that they are not the producing cause of rice sprouts, the rice seed itself is also not its cause, because it is other. For example, barley, etc., do not have the ability to produce rice sprouts, are not the same continuum, and are not of the same kind, just as it is considered that they are not the producing cause of rice sprouts, the rice seed itself also does not have the ability to produce rice sprouts, is not the same continuum, and is not of the same kind, it will become the same, because it is other than the rice sprout, like cassia, etc. Therefore, for those who admit that cause and effect are other, there will be the fault that everything becomes cause and effect, because all the proofs that establish other differences will become the same as what is to be established and will not be established. In this way, if the Madhyamikas believe that cause and effect are not other, there will also be the fault that things arise from themselves, because they are not other than themselves. If it is said that such a fault is the same. We have only negated that cause and effect are other, and have not established that some effects arise from some causes that are not other, then how can there be the same fault? Therefore, I, who am of little wisdom, am afraid of this kind of fault of the Madhyamikas, even if I refute and answer, I cannot be refuted by everyone, and I cannot answer correctly, because it is the same as what needs to be established. Therefore, it is said in the treatise: When emptiness is debated, whoever answers and argues, he has not answered everything, it will be the same as what needs to be established. If emptiness is explained, whoever blames and argues, he has not blamed everything, it will be the same as what needs to be established. Thus it is said.
