Among them, first establish the thesis, then refute it. First, the elements exist. The World Honored One once said, 'Great King, this person is the six elements.' Therefore, since the scriptures say so, then like the elements, the aggregates and sources also exist. If you think so, then the second part is to refute it, to refute the six elements in detail, and to show that attachment cannot be liberated. Among them, the first part is to refute the element of space, and to extend this principle to other aspects. First, elaborate on the refutation, and then summarize the refutation. First, refute the name and the named, refute existence and non-existence. First, there are three parts. Refuting the nature: Among them, the six elements are earth, water, fire, wind, space, and consciousness. Here, it is explained from the perspective of refuting that space is real. Before the nature of space, space does not exist at all. If the name is earlier than the nature, then it will fall into the fault of having no nature. Here, the nature of space is unobstructed, and if the basis of the nature, space, exists before it, then the nature can be established on it. However, before the nature of space, that is, before being unobstructed, the basis of the nature, space, does not exist at all. If the basis of the nature is established before the nature, then it will fall into the fault of having no nature. This is not what is desired, nor is it reasonable. Because a thing without nature does not exist anywhere. If it is thought that the nature exists, because the nature can be established on it. Then, on a non-existent thing without nature, where will the nature be established? Because it has been said that before the nature, there is no basis of the nature without nature, so where will the nature be established? Therefore, the nature cannot be established. If it is thought that the basis of the nature is established first, and then the nature is established later, then it will still fall into the fault of having no nature. Second, if it is thought that they are established simultaneously, then like the left and right horns, because they do not depend on each other, the name and the named are unreasonable. In addition, when the nature is established, is it established on a thing with nature, or is it established on a thing without nature? Neither is reasonable. For a thing without nature, the nature is..." } ] ============================================================

English

It does not apply, nor does it apply to things with characteristics. For things without characteristics, characteristics do not apply, like a rabbit's horn. For things with characteristics, characteristics also do not apply, because for things that are already established as having characteristics, applying characteristics is meaningless. If it applies, it will be endless. If it is said to apply to things other than these two, then, apart from things with characteristics and things without characteristics, it is also impossible to apply to other things. Because something that is neither a thing with characteristics nor a thing without characteristics does not exist. Second, refuting the basis. If it is thought that even if characteristics do not apply, the basis exists, then, if characteristics do not apply, the basis cannot be established. When characteristics do not apply in the manner described above, the basis cannot be established, because the basis depends on the application of characteristics. If it is thought that even if characteristics do not apply, characteristics exist, and because of its existence, the basis also exists, then, if the basis is not established, characteristics also do not exist. When the non-application of characteristics leads to the non-establishment of the basis, characteristics also do not exist, because there is no basis. Third, summarizing the main points. Therefore, the basis does not exist, and the characteristics themselves also do not exist. Second, refuting existence and non-existence. If it is thought that even if the basis and characteristics do not exist, emptiness as the nature of reality exists, then, reality apart from the basis and characteristics also does not exist. Why? Because it is separated from the basis and characteristics, like a flower in the sky. If emptiness is not real, then does non-reality exist? If reality does not exist, then to whom does non-reality belong? When emptiness is not real, to whom does non-reality belong? Because in the world, the change in the state of reality is called non-reality. Therefore, emptiness is only nominally established as formlessness. If, according to the reason stated above, it is formless, then how can the emptiness that negates it exist? If it is thought that because you exist who distinguish between existence and non-existence, they also exist, then this is also unreasonable, because existence and non-existence are incompatible.
