The Vajra Song of Mahamudra Clarifying the Ground, Path, and Fruit of the Great Vehicle. The Vajra Song of Mahamudra Clarifying the Ground, Path, and Fruit of the Great Vehicle. The Vajra Song of Mahamudra Clarifying the Ground, Path, and Fruit of the Great Vehicle. Namo Guru. Samsara and Nirvana are inseparable, the single taste of Mahamudra. The primordial mind that has abandoned existence, non-existence, permanence, and annihilation. If its essence were to change due to conditions, it would not be pure gold. Clear and non-conceptual, I prostrate to the self-arisen Dharmadhatu. By the power of colors, a crystal ball appears in various forms, yet the nature of the crystal does not change. By the power of habitual tendencies, the nature of mind appears in various forms, yet it does not move from the Dharmadhatu. Therefore, without adding or subtracting with the conceptual thoughts of existence, non-existence, permanence, and annihilation, this very variety of appearances is the self-luminous, unchanging Mahamudra. Is it not the emptiness that possesses all supreme qualities? Even if the fire at the end of time were to burn all the worlds, it would not burn the sky. Although various sufferings are labeled as being experienced due to the power of ignorance, they do not touch the Dharmadhatu. Although all that has form depends on space, space does not abide anywhere and is beyond expression. The various worlds abide in the Dharmadhatu of mind, and the Dharmadhatu, like space, is without abiding and beyond expression. Although the destruction and formation of the container occur in space, space does not change. Similarly, although the birth and death of beings depend on the Dharmadhatu of mind, the Dharmadhatu is unchanging, merely labeled by conceptual thought. Whatever samsara experiences various sufferings, and the great bliss of Nirvana that abandons it, if these two were different, then how could the omniscient one realize the equality of samsara and Nirvana? Therefore, this indivisible clarity and emptiness of one's own mind is samsara, labeled by the delusion of ignorance, and it is Nirvana when grasped by the skillful means of omniscience. It exists in the same way as water and waves. Due to the delusion of ignorance, this Dharmadhatu is grasped as self, and by its power, beings wander in samsara. The wise understand that the root of self-grasping lies in the Dharmadhatu, and by letting go without grasping, one is liberated in its own place. Such is the self-luminous Dharmadhatu of one's own mind, seeing that there is no difference in all sentient beings, using examples such as treasures beneath the earth and the womb of a pregnant woman, it is taught that all beings possess the Buddha-nature. Other than that, there is no other Tathagatagarbha.

Whatever says that there is truth in samsara, it is because of clinging to the self with the pretense of giving happiness. Know that this has deviated from the teachings of the Buddha. This is the chapter on the basis. O friends, contemplate the laws of samsara! Whatever you look at, see if there is any essence. Therefore, generate renunciation and abandon worldly affairs. Observe the realm of your own original mind in this way. Method and wisdom are inseparable, the single taste of the Great Seal. Abandoning clarity and obscurity, sinking and rising, this is the primordial mind. Do not disturb it with the mind that wants to meditate, let it rest in its own nature. Relax your body and mind, and erect the watchtower of mindfulness. Just as a bird flying from a ship in the ocean circles around and then lands back on the ship, no matter how many collections of thoughts arise, they will eventually return to their own place in the realm of Dharma. Therefore, there is no need to deliberately stop thoughts. Relax and maintain the watch of mindfulness. Just as poison is transformed by mantra, thoughts and ignorance arise as great wisdom. Non-thought achieved through effort and exertion is the great darkness that obscures the self-arising luminosity. Therefore, if you want the self-arising luminosity to arise, the yogi should not practice by fabricating non-thought. Just as someone who wants to calm the waves of water, the more effort they make, the more the waves increase. Even if you rely on antidotes to stop thoughts, the waves of purification will become more and more turbulent. When someone leaves it alone, the waves of water will naturally subside. Similarly, if you know how to relax effortlessly, the waves of thoughts will naturally calm down. The liberation of thoughts in the Dharma realm is quiescence; cutting through bonds is insight. The merging of appearance and mind, inseparable, is the path of union, like filling a crystal container with clear water. In this primordially pure, spontaneously accomplished realm, even the imprints of defilements cannot be removed, and the imprints of non-conceptual antidotes cannot be created. Therefore, what should be meditated on as an antidote to what? When one's own mind abides in the unborn realm, not seeing the characteristics of abandoning and antidotes, accepting and rejecting, and when there is no meditator or object of meditation, then what is to be abandoned is naturally liberated, and the antidote naturally arises. The initial path of practice is like a child's path, turbulent like a rushing stream; the intermediate path of practice is like the path of the noble ones, slow like the flow of the Ganges; the final path of practice is like the depths of the ocean, unshakable by anything, this is the path of omniscience. The path.
