Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions! Those who wish to quickly attain enlightenment by means of a human body endowed with leisure and resources, faith, diligence, and the four fulfillments, should listen to this Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment.\n\nJust as a blind turtle might find a yoke adrift on the vast ocean, it is difficult to obtain a human body endowed with leisure and resources. Now that you have obtained it, when you can accomplish great benefit, there is no greater foolishness than to destroy yourself.\n\nYou should diligently listen to and contemplate the teachings, and exert yourself day and night without relaxing. Actually practicing in accordance with the teacher's instructions is superior to merely listening to the Dharma with a crowd of followers.\n\nThe three realms are impermanent like autumn clouds. The birth and death of beings are like looking at a dance. The life of a person passes quickly like a flash of lightning. It goes swiftly like a waterfall rushing down a steep mountain.\n\nJust as a shepherd with a stick in his hand drives the cattle to the slaughterhouse, so too, birth, old age, sickness, and death drive all beings to the presence of the Lord of Death.\n\nJust as drops of water separate and flow into a great river, so too, as days and nights pass separately, the lives of people are quickly depleted.\n\nThere is no place where the Lord of Death does not appear. There is no place in the world to escape to. Even if you enter the ocean or the sky, or even the depths of the mountains, you cannot avoid it.\n\nAll the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the past have taken and abandoned this body. Knowing that it will decay without being eaten by demons, you should strive to reverse the fire that has broken out on your head.\n\nThe single path of the Buddhas and their children is the mind of compassion, the non-dual wisdom, and the supreme enlightenment that wishes to liberate all beings. You should diligently and constantly train in these three dharmas.\n\nFirst, clinging to the self, saying \"I,\" and then creating attachment to things, saying \"mine,\" like a waterwheel turning without freedom, look at these beings with a compassionate mind.\n\nIn order to liberate beings, you should generate the genuine mind of aspiration for complete enlightenment. And in accordance with that, you should train your mind in the practices of the Bodhisattvas as much as you are able.\n\nAfflictions" } ] ============================================================

All actions and births, know that they arise from the view of the perishable aggregate. Sever the root of the aggregates, and strive to destroy the attachment to self and what belongs to self. As long as there is attachment to the aggregates, the attachment to "I" and "mine" cannot be reversed. Therefore, following scripture and reason, burn the aggregates like firewood with the fire of wisdom. Since there is no birth from self, other, both, or without cause, all phenomena are empty of inherent existence. Or, since the nature of one and many does not exist, they are empty like reflections. Like illusions, optical illusions, cities of gandharvas, the moon in water, and echoes in valleys, they arise dependent on causes and conditions, so they are not entirely non-existent. That which is inexpressible, free from extremes, and abandons all attachments, that meaning is considered by the wise to be the Middle Way. Whoever enters deeply into the Middle Way, enters the path of the Buddhas' intention. As long as words can express, the net of conceptualization will expand, which is elaboration. Reality cannot be expressed by words, it is not an object of speech, it cannot be established by conceptualization, it is free from elaboration. Those who show that reality through the path of words, are like drawing pictures in the sky. Therefore, the Buddhas say that the inexpressible nature of space is reality. When I place my mind on such a meaning, that is placing it on the true meaning, and meditating on the meaning of the Perfection of Wisdom is also the cessation of suffering in this very life. Existence, non-existence, both, neither, etc., dwelling the mind on any extreme is an improper way of entering, and there is no doubt that one will be seized by the serpent of afflictions. Wisdom that does not abide anywhere is the best of abidings, not grasping at any characteristics is the best of realizations, the cessation of all conceptualization is the best of bliss, this inexpressible meaning is meditative yoga. Always with the samadhi that is like an illusion, the subsequent attainment is the conduct of the path of dependent origination, this dependent origination is praised as the most precious and profound treasure of the Buddhas' speech. Just as by relying on wood and strings, and the combination of the three actions of the hand, sounds such as the lute and flute can be produced, and sounds also arise dependent on them. From where does that sound come, and where does it go?
