A very hot pyre was built from wood, and a small mound was built with the leaves of the Tala tree. Then thick sesame oil was poured on it, and a kur of sandalwood and a bre of sesame oil were collected, and these were tightly tied to the victor's body, and he was placed in the middle, and fire was set in four directions, and fanned with a fan, and the valley was filled with smoke. After the ministers returned to their residences, there was a great sound and earthquake at that time. The gods in the sky could not bear it, and recited the Dharma, and all the desire realm gods heard it. The Four Great Kings and the Thirty-three Heavens, up to the No Contention Heaven, heard it and came to Ramda. From Akanishta and the naturally formed palace, the Sugatas gathered like stars. The dakinis were noisy and chattering, some carried water, some sprinkled water, some collected firewood, some untied the bonds, some rained, some formed pools. The smoke did not stop for seven days, and the smoke stopped after burning for three days before, but this time it felt that the smoke did not stop for seven days. Horses and elephants made the sound of marching, the king did not believe it and went to see, that land (100b) turned into an ocean of water, the edge of the ocean was surrounded by a huge pit of fire, all the flames were burning outwards. Having been painted with colors, raḥ, the body feels cold and refreshing. All the surroundings are encircled by rainbows and light. Hundreds of maidens like goddesses are praising. The radiance is gradually fading, but the blessings are thick. Not believing his eyes, he went to look in all four directions. No matter where he looked, it was the same. The king thought, "Could there be something wrong with my eyes?" Wiping his eyes, he looked again and again. The boy spoke these words to the king: To the lama who is the essence of the Buddhas of the three times, Are you the evil king who performs live cremation curses? Being extremely attached to the Dharma that deceives the world, Are you the evil king who imposes meaningless punishments? To the five poisons of afflictions, the root of ignorance, Are you the evil king who dwells temporarily and permanently? To the rudeness of the Sangha, making sentient beings happy, Are you the king and minister who increases non-virtue? Having said these words, the king fell to the ground. Saying, "Is doing such a thing remembering?" He vigorously beat his chest with both hands, Like a fish thrown onto the sandy beach, His head and body were hitting the ground and rolling around. (101a) Saying he would become like that, he wailed. The ministers looked at the regent boy, People came there one after another. It was said that the non-virtuous ascetic had not died. Putting aside their work, all men and women ran. Everyone in the land of Zahor (Sanskrit: Zāhor, around Bodh Gaya in Bihar, India today) gathered. The old and frail leaned on burdens and crutches. From there, from places hundreds and thousands of leagues away, the ground disappeared, and a red and black market gathered. After that, when the king fell and bound the child, his body fell to the ground, and he searched countless times. Having done an inappropriate deed, regret could not arrive on horseback. Before the extremely hot fire was lit, in the middle of the fire pit, sesame oil spread like an ocean. In the middle of the ocean, a lotus tree grew. In the middle of the lotus tree, the Buddhas of the three times reside. Untainted by faults, you who have no change, Praise to you, the source of bliss and lotus. My evil mind has insulted your body, Without concealing or hiding, I confess and repent. I offer the kingdom of the king, please accept it. The king's power is held in your hands, Become the king who follows you. Please forgive the ignorance and tongues of sentient beings, Please reside in the palace. After that, from the assembly place of the virtuous gods, Indra, the king of the gods, with his retinue, (101b) came together.
