Collection of Teachings by the Omniscient Pema Karpo PK159 Empowerment into the Mandala of Amitayus with Nine Deities 16-511 Empowerment into the Mandala of Amitayus with Nine Deities Extensive Sadhana of Red Hayagriva Homage to the holy feet of the venerable Guru! Although possessing great compassion, in order to subdue the unruly Matram Rudra, He manifested a wrathful form to annihilate him. I bow to Padma Garwang (Lotus Dance Empowerment). Here, following the tradition of the Queen of Accomplishments, I shall write an extensive sadhana of Hayagriva. First, sit on a comfortable seat and take refuge: 'I take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha until I attain enlightenment.' 'By the merits of my practice, may I attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all beings.' In your own heart, from the red HRIH (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:HRIH), rays of light in the form of iron hooks emanate, inviting Hayagriva, who abides in the form of the Guru and lineage holder, surrounded by all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, into the space in front of you. 16-512 To the Guru, the embodiment of the Three Jewels, and to the wrathful king Hayagriva, the chief, To the entire mandala of the Victorious Ones, I prostrate in every aspect. May my body become a cause for pleasing the Victorious Ones, transforming into clouds of Samantabhadra's offerings, Filling the boundless expanse of space, I offer with all things. I confess all sins, and rejoice in all merits, Urging the beating of the great drum of Dharma, I request you to remain as long as space exists. By the power of you, the sacred field of merit, may I gather all beings of the three realms, Going to the presence of all Buddhas, may I hold all the sacred Dharma. Recite three times, then invite the assembly of merit to return to their natural state. May all sentient beings have happiness and the causes of happiness. Meditate on the four immeasurables. For the benefit of all sentient beings, may I attain the state of great glorious Hayagriva. For that purpose, I shall enter the stages of yoga. Thinking thus, the HRIH (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:HRIH) in the heart transforms into the fire of wisdom, burning the ripened body, and becoming emptiness. OM SVABHAVA SHUDDHA SARVA DHARMA SVABHAVA SHUDDHO 'HAM (藏文:ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུད་དྷཱཿསརྦདྷརྨཿ སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུད་དྷོ྅ཧཾ།). Within emptiness, caused by the momentum of past aspirations, with compassion as the condition, in an instant, from the realm of red jewels, arises a mandala, crescent-shaped, 16-513 With a door opening to the front, spacious and vast inside, on a lotus and sun in the center, from the red HRIH (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:HRIH) transforms into a white vajra scepter, in an instant, oneself becomes Wrat --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Hayagriva (Tibetan: རྟ་མཆོག་, literally: Supreme Horse) King, with a wrathful expression, bares his fangs and gnaws, his tongue flicking, three eyes wide open, and hair, eyebrows, and beard of yellow hue. Above, a green horse head neighs, its sound echoing through the sky, subduing the three realms. His right hand brandishes a vajra club, crushing all obstructing forces and spirits; his left hand forms a threatening mudra at his heart, with flames blazing from its tip, incinerating all harm-doers. He wears a crown of five dry skulls, a necklace of a hundred freshly bleeding heads, adorned with five bone ornaments and the eight great nagas. He is decorated with drops of blood, lines of fat, and clusters of ashes, his upper body covered with elephant hide and human skin, his lower body wrapped in wet tiger skin. Unyielding, he possesses the nature of vajra. From his form, akin to Yama, emanates a mass of fire from the eons, blazing fiercely in all directions. His right leg is bent, his left extended, trampling the four maras, seated upon a lotus and sun disc. Subduing the three realms, pervading the expanse of the sky. On his forehead is a white 'Om' (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:Perfection) of body vajra nature, at his throat a red 'Ah' (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:Arising) of speech vajra nature, and at his heart a blue 'Hum' (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Subduing) of mind vajra nature. Within his heart is a white staff, marked with a red 'Hrih' (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:Great compassion). Visualize light radiating from there, and the Hayagriva King, as visualized, surrounded by a great assembly of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, invited into the space before you. Hayagriva's form, born from 'Hrih' (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:Great compassion), burns afflictions like the sun's rays, destroys the four maras, I invite the heroic Hayagriva to come. Dza Hum Bam Hoh (藏文:ཛཿཧཱུཾ་བཾ་ཧོཿ), making the samaya being and wisdom being inseparable. Again, from the seed syllable at his heart, light radiates, inviting the empowerment deities complete with the three aspects (place, retinue, and time). The Tathagatas bestow the intention of empowerment, the consorts pour the continuous stream of nectar from precious vases, the offering goddesses present offerings, the Bodhisattvas speak auspicious words, and the Hayagriva Kings dispel obstacles, thus bestowing empowerment. The body is filled, impurities cleansed, and the remaining water swirls upwards, crowned with the form of the emanation of the Lord of one's own lineage. I offer the shapes of all offerings, fragrant, pure, and delightful offering water, drinking water, mouthwash, foot wash, flowers, incense, lamps, and perfume. Om Maha Ah Hum (藏文:ཨོཾ་མ་ཧཱ་ཨཱཿཧཱུཾ) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
