This is the sequence of eliminating and dispelling the Rakshasa, the obstacle to accomplishment: On top of a broken clay vessel filled with dregs, tea leaves, etc., in a broken bowl or plate, make an effigy of the Rakshasa from dough, wearing a gray cloth hat, with a belt tightly fastened, both hands holding food, and the mouth in a laughing expression. To its right, place a ransom effigy of a male human or animal. To its left, place a ransom effigy of a female human or animal. In front, place a butter lamp. Behind, place a bell. Gather many broken bowls, plates, clay and copper items, and human food. Decorate the right and left shoulders with wooden sun and moon plaques. Decorate the back with white silk. Offer silk, colored thread, cotton, wool, and jewels as ransom. Bless it with the six-syllable mantra, mudra, and samadhi, and with the generation stage of the Great Wrathful One, say this: KYE!
