Homage. Whose words and meanings are like a myriad rays of light, Pouring forth, causing the lotus of eloquent speech to sway and bloom. It nourishes the assembly of fortunate bumblebees, And simultaneously dispels all darkness of false calculations. This was not composed for competing with others or destroying their doctrines, Nor for achieving one's own gain and fame. But for the sake of beings in this age afflicted by new afflictions, I speak this so that they may enter the supreme wisdom. Those who are arrogant with knowledge, blazing with fame, and devoid of real wisdom, Everywhere fabricate falsehoods, and everyone strives for fame. In a time when good and bad speech are valued equally, What is the use of striving in this way? However, urged on by the words of the holy ones, And especially by the command of the incomparable and venerable Lama, Which, like a waterfall from a steep cliff, cannot be turned back, It was composed by the young monk of Gnyos, Dharma Shri. Unfamiliar with the path of learning and intelligence, And lacking the foundation of innate confidence, Stumbling along the path of wrong speech with faltering steps, May the wise ones forgive and accept this. May the pure white accumulation of merit obtained through this, the face of the spotless new moon, Dispel the darkness of a hundred faults and never return, possessing a million white lights. May the wondrous spectacle of whatever delights cause the lotus of the Buddha's teachings to bloom, And may it be beautiful as a friend who dispels the thick darkness of the night of evil thoughts in this world! This "Explanation of the Essence of Calculation, Manifestation of the Sun, the Golden Chariot," is due to the successive commands of the great Dharma King, the Lord of Men, Hynu Shri Kunga Sonam Lhundrup, who is adorned with immeasurable excellent qualities, and also due to the encouragement from afar by Zhangpo Drungpa, father and son, Sonam Rabten and Tshewang Migyur Rabten, who were born into the lineage of the Tibetan Lhatsenpo and reside in the center of the ocean of Black Calculation, saying, "You must compile a large treatise that gathers the scattered letters of the Phukpa system." Urged on by these, as well as by my own younger brother, Kunga Tsultrim Gyatso, whose house of intelligence is filled with treasures of qualities, and by Gyatsun Ngawang Palzang, who is accomplished in the science of medicine and is not ignorant of the Black Calculation system, and especially for the sake of the nature of immeasurable wisdom and compassion, whose name is difficult to pronounce.

May it be accomplished swiftly in this way by the secret command of the all-knowing Terton Chökyi Gyalpo, the supreme lord, revered with a hundredfold faith at the crown of the head. That venerable and holy one was crowned as the crest jewel of his lineage. Thanks to the kindness of many holy beings such as Panchen Gyalwai Sönam, the great scholar Lhümpo Ba Chenpo Döndrup Wangyal, and Gyaton Nüriwa, the learned Gnyos Tsün Dharma Shri completed up to the fourth chapter of the outer year. Thereafter, commencing on the eighteenth day of the waxing moon of the month of Mentsu in the year of his thirty-third year, the year of exhausting the accumulation of misdeeds, it was completed on the day of the Black Moon Festival in the great monastic college of Orgyen Mindrolling. The scribe was the virtuous friend, the monk Orgyen Peljor, who is skilled in the terminology of the scriptures and possesses the intellect to apply reasoning. Later, in the Earth Hare year of Myösden, the author himself made some corrections to the text. || Om Swasti! Drawn from the glorious Tantraraja Ocean of Play, the precious turquoise of the astrological tenets, a captivating spectacle like a pendant of jeweled necklaces, the second Saraswati, the goddess who commands speech. 1. Born from the wisdom of Chöpel Gyatso, the wonderful exposition, the spring of the sun's appearance. Drawn from the eastern mountains by a golden chariot, an unprecedented and wondrous lamp appears here. 2. The outer appearance, the arrangement of Mount Meru and the four continents arising from interdependence, and all the phenomena of the movements of the sun, moon, planets, and stars. Other than the aggregation of the skandhas, elements, channels, winds, and sources, the external is empty of inherent existence. 3. Therefore, if one has the eye of intelligence to see well the subtle and detailed forms of the profound essence of astrology, who can prevent the opportunity to easily attain the omniscient mind that sees all that can be known? 4. By the true result of the sameness of outer, inner, and other, by this certainty that clarifies good and bad in the hidden, the skandhas and elements are primordially pure, and as the deity of the mudra, the meaning of the tantra is spontaneously realized. 5. In the activities of the two obscurations, like clouds in motion, in the traces of the two accumulations scattered by the wind, in the clear and lucid sky-sun of the two wisdoms, in the face of equanimity, the elaboration of the two, benefit and harm, does not appear.

Alas! 6. The limbs of dependent arising, the aggregates, are not diminished, The chariot of the five aggregates travels the path of existence. If one is without the eye of wisdom that discerns good and bad, There is a danger of falling into the abyss of the wrong path's end. 7. Nowadays, those who are learned in terminology and scriptural teachings, Merely possess the arrogance of Abhidharma and the calculations of divination. Seeing children who are not well guided, My sorrowful mind enters the chamber of grief. 8. Therefore, these treatises that clearly explain the meaning of the tantras, Are hidden like a treasure in a poor man's house. In order to prevent them from being hidden and to benefit the continuation of the teachings, I have diligently carved and published this with sincere intention. 9. Through the virtuous deeds accumulated in the three times, beginning with this, May the power be wielded over the inexhaustible treasury of space. Through the dedication and aspiration of the union of emptiness and compassion, May all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas assist in accomplishing favorable conditions. 10. May all sentient beings, whether connected or unconnected to me, Quickly attain the unchanging great bliss, the innate, natural realm, May the basis-continuum primordial wisdom ripen into the body of the fruition, May they quickly attain the state of Kalachakra. 11. Done by the virtuous one. Previous: The meaning of the conclusion. No next.
