Another time, when the steward was performing a ceremony at Changra, he said, "Why are you cherishing it so much? It will soon be taken away by a useless person." Karma Chozom and other elders who were present heard these words. There were many such things, such as when he was in the monastery before, he said to a nun named Jamyang Drolma, "You will live this long." Later, she actually died at that time. At the age of nine, in the Wood Horse year, he went to Darling and received the lay vows of refuge in the Three Jewels from the great master Rigzin Chenpo, and also heard many empowerments and transmissions. In Dompo, he joined his grandfather, the great scholar Dondrup Wangyal, to study reading, and with just a gesture of instruction, he could read both regular and cursive script without any difficulty. He only practiced the letters and strokes of cursive script, and soon he was able to write scriptures, and he naturally mastered regular script and other fonts, which surprised and praised everyone. After that, he studied the Dharma practice rituals of his own tradition, the Guru Yoga Mother and Son practices, Peaceful and Wrathful deities, Dongtrug, Kagye, Great Compassion, Amitayus, etc., the torma offerings of the protectors such as Maning, the peaceful and wrathful Guru, Longevity Arrow, Vajrapani, etc., empowerments and transmissions, consecration, sacred place prophecies, fire offerings, and other rituals.

Bon Lungpa Tsultrim Gyaltsen went to Darling and received a longevity empowerment, and also received some empowerments and transmissions from the Speech Incarnation Rinpoche. In the late summer, he went to U-Tsang, and at the monastery, together with many virtuous friends from all directions, including Palri Tulku Trinley Namgyal, he received the ripening empowerment of Kagyed Deshek from his father Rigzin Chenpo, as well as the complete transmission of the Five Stages of Practice book, and all the empowerment, transmission, profound teachings, and pictorial introductions of Lama Gongdu. That winter, together with many Dharma seekers from Mon and Tibet, including the Monpa Lama Incarnation, he received all the empowerments, transmissions, profound teachings, and practices of the treasure teachings of Terton Pema Lingpa, as well as all the empowerments and transmissions of the Dharma cycles of Lho Lestro Lingpa.
