It is said that it was transmitted in India through profound lineages and did not spread widely. The Teacher taught sporadically, saying: During the first turning of the wheel, sick monks should consult doctors, etc. When the Blessed One was residing in Anathapindika's Garden, the monks were afflicted by autumn wheat disease, and after allowing Ananda, the monks could use four types of medicine, namely, those suitable for the time, those suitable for the dose, those usable within seven days, and those usable for life, etc., and the basis of medicine in the Vinaya was taught. During the second turning of the wheel, the Great God Brahma was taught the "Great Naked Seer Tantra," which is 3,500 chapters or known as the "Hundred Thousand Medical Treatises." During the final turning of the wheel, to the merchant's son Water Giver, the "Noble Golden Light Sutra" was taught, which says: Three months are summer, and three months are known as autumn. Etc. In the tantric scriptures, the formation of the body, how its elements are disturbed to cause disease, and the external and internal treatments that are beneficial are explained in detail. In particular, in the sacred land of India, the chariot-founder, the teacher Brave Protector, composed the "Great Eight-Branched Treatise" and its essence compilation, etc. Kashmir Moon praised composed the "Moonlight Commentary" and it flourished. Secondly, the way of transmission from the gods is, as it is said: Poetry, sacrifice, protection of the state, and determinism are called the four branches. This is how it arose from the four faces of the ancestor Brahma, because from the face of Brahma, from the central face came the life Veda, poetry, determinism, sacrifice, etc., were spoken from other faces. As it is said, in the past, the Asura Powerful One used Mount Meru as a churning stick, and two Naga kings as churning ropes, churning the outer ocean, from which the sun, moon, poison, nectar, etc. arose. At that time, the Lord of Power drank the nectar, so his throat turned blue. When Brahma was holding the nectar, Rahu used the bone-made yogurt-drinking spoon in the hand of All-Pervading, which was the wheel made by Vishvakarman for rubbing the sun, and struck Brahma's forehead or cheek, causing him to faint for a long time. After that, he recovered, regained his memory, thought of beneficial methods, recalled the medicine tantras he had heard from the Buddha before, and life arose from the wound.

At the beginning of medicine, due to the emergence of "Om atha" (藏文,梵文天城体:ओम् अथ,梵文罗马拟音:Om atha,汉语字面意思:嗡,现在。), the life Veda, including its branches, came into being. As stated in the "Moonbeam": "The letters Om and Atha's sound, these two were originally from Brahma, bursting forth from his cheeks, therefore, these are auspicious." Thus, Brahma healed his own illness and showed it to the Lord of Beings. He explained it to the son of the star Thaska, Rismeda, and the two including the gods. Those two transmitted it to the king of the gods, Indra, Bande, and numerous celestial sages. Third, the way it spread in India: When the teacher was alive, the small son of King Embodied Essence was healed by his older brother, Youthful Fearless. It is said that he was healed by the king of medicine, Jivaka, who was a disciple of the human sage Constant Knowledge. In the healing section of the Vinaya, there is a detailed history of Shakyamuni Buddha being empowered as the king of medicine for healing illnesses, and so on. The glorious protector, the noble Nagarjuna, composed the "Hundred Applications of Medicine" and the "Root Verses of Life," the "Root of the Ava Ritual," and the "Mercury Compound, Garland of Jewels." His disciple Hero wrote the aforementioned eight branches, and Kashmir Moon wrote commentaries such as "Moonlight" on it and propagated it. Fourth, how it spread in the land of snowy Tibet: In the past, when Dharma King Brahma Flower initiated the sacred Dharma, the Kashmiri Pandit Moon Manifest Joy and the translator Vairochana translated and explained the "Nectar Heart Essence Eight Branches Secret Instructions," and so on. In any case, the medical texts written by Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and gods or sages, from the regions of India, China, Mongolia, and Gesar, were translated into Tibetan by the great translator Vairochana and others. The Eight Branches Root Commentary was translated, explained, and established by Rinchen Zangpo. Relying on it, Yuthok Yonten Gonpo, who is inseparable from the teacher, the Medicine Buddha, propagated the Four Tantras, which are as famous as the sun and moon. The Medicine Buddha prophesied: "Initially, it was Karma Trime, in the middle, it was Youthful Fearless Renown, now it is known as Yuthok Yonten Gonpo, from here to the city of the Medicine Buddha"
