He relied on all the teachers of grammar, studied and understood grammar, but was still not satisfied, so he practiced the Yidam deity, who appeared and said, \"A A(藏文:ཨ་,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:A), I I(藏文:ཨི་,梵文天城体:इ,梵文罗马拟音:i,汉语字面意思:I), U U(藏文:ཨུ་,梵文天城体:उ,梵文罗马拟音:u,汉语字面意思:U),\" and then he understood all the knowledge of phonetics. Although the outsiders say that this is Ishvara, the Manjushri Root Tantra prophesied that this is an incarnation of Avalokiteshvara, saying: \"The Brahmin boy Pāṇini, I have prophesied that he will surely attain the Hearer Bodhi, he is the great Lord of Ishvara, and he can also accomplish it with his mantra.\" Therefore, he composed the grammar scripture called Pāṇini-vyākaraṇa, which has one thousand verses, and the Viseṣa-vibhāga-sūtra, which also has one thousand verses, totaling two thousand verses. This is like the root of all grammar. Before that, there were no written scriptures of grammar, and there was no unified order of compilation. Therefore, the former grammarians started with one or two phonetic combinations, and collected all the scattered knowledge, and it is said that they could only understand a lot. It is said that Indra-vyākaraṇa came to Tibet earlier, but it may have appeared earlier in the heavenly realm, but it did not appear earlier in India. Candra-vyākaraṇa, which was translated into Tibetan, is consistent with Pāṇini's view, while Kalāpa-vyākaraṇa is consistent with Indra's system. The scholars say so. In particular, Pāṇini-vyākaraṇa is more extensive in meaning, so it is said that it is very rare to fully understand it and all its components. After that, in the northern border region, there appeared a king named Mes-byin. He offered to the Arhat Dharma Merchant and about three thousand other noble ones for more than thirty years. In the central region, the Dharma was propagated through large donations of noble ones. In the city of Flowers (Me-tog), Padma-chenpo, the son of King Gawa (dga'-bo), offered to the Sangha. At that time, the elder Yid-brtan, who followed Nāgārjuna, appeared and fully proclaimed the five theses, which led to a widespread increase in disputes, and the beginning of the gradual division of the four schools into eighteen schools."

was composed. A little later than the time of King Padma Chenpo, a king named Zla-ba bsrung appeared in the country of Odri Bisha. It is said that a noble being (not clear in the original text) appeared in his house in the form of a monk, taught various Mahayana doctrines, and left a scripture. It is said that it was the Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra. This is the beginning of the emergence of Mahayana Buddhism in the human realm after the Parinirvana of the Buddha. After that, in the land of Kashmir, there was a king named Singha, who renounced and attained Arhatship. King Kanishka heard of this, developed great faith, and listened to the Dharma from the noble Singha Leg-mthong. He also established many festival offerings for the Sangha of the four directions. His disciple, the monk Yang-dag rgyal-ba-can, also taught much Dharma. At that time, the eighteen schools had already split and existed separately without dispute. At that time, from the east, a noble Rib-log appeared, an Arhat who had mastered many teachings. He recited the Jataka with the Golden Garland, and sutras that predicted the dreams of King Kri-kri, and other extremely rare sutras. King Kanishka heard of this and, in the Earring Forest Temple in Kashmir, gathered all the monks and held the Third Council, according to the Kashmiris. Others believe that it was held in the Kubana Temple in Jalandhara, and most scholars consider the latter to be more reasonable. In any case, it is said that five hundred Arhats and five thousand great Vinaya holders participated in the council. In reality, it was only to show the greatness of the Dharma that it was said that there were five hundred Arhats, but in reality there were only a few Arhats, and only when those who had attained the fruit of Stream-entry and above were included did the number reach five hundred. Therefore, at the time of the Third Council, there were very few Arhats. From the end of King Delight, to the entire time of King Padma Chenpo, and up to the beginning of King Kanishka, during the reign of these four kings, there was dispute among the Sangha, and the fierce dispute lasted for about sixty-three years. Disputes before and after.
