May I never turn back! In the center of this Bodhi field, May I rely on the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and virtuous friends who proclaim the right path, life after life, Thus upholding this Dharma and benefiting others. May all my actions become Dharma by overcoming self-grasping, May all encounters become companions by cutting off hope and fear, May I, through mastering pure intention, even if enduring suffering for others, Be extremely joyful and continuously increase. May I not be defiled by the poison of clinging to views, Not be bound by biased attachment, With the supreme precious mind of the union of two truths, Eliminate the decline of samsara and nirvana. Even if body, speech, and actions seem ordinary, May my mind never be separated from Bodhicitta, Even if not performing contrived virtuous deeds, May I complete the vast accumulation of merit through the power of intention. May I, day and night, For the benefit of beings, dedicate my body, life, possessions, and the merit accumulated in the three times, Completely, And may I not generate, even for a moment, The mind that seeks reward for my own happiness. May I take defeat and offer victory to others, Rest in a humble position and respectfully bow to all beings, To those who harm me, may I repay with benefit, Thus upholding the conduct of all Bodhisattvas. Respect the Guru, gladly accept the Guru's teachings, Gather all the different Dharmas into one practice, Cut off hope and fear, and constantly for the sake of others, Don the armor of diligence. If it harms others, even the bliss of liberation, Abandon it like grass at a crossroads, If it benefits others, even if it is falling into the abyss of the lower realms, Go there joyfully as if entering a garden. Protect the three trainings like the apple of one's eye, The actions of the three doors of body, speech, and mind are inseparable from the Dharma, All the virtuous things accumulated in the three times, May they be sealed with the dedication that is pure in the three spheres. For the sea of practice that is immeasurable and vast, For the treasure of qualities that are complete and precious, For the root place of power and assembly, May I also enter with a joyful mind. For beings oppressed by the burden of various sufferings, With countless skillful means of antidotes, Increase the benefit and happiness of all beings without exception, May I obtain the Samadhi with great power. Since the Buddha's intention and conduct are immeasurable like the ocean, May I skillfully gather the rivers of the qualities of the Buddhas, like the ocean, Into my wisdom that is like the ocean, Thus making the ocean of activities become of one taste. This is the writing of the words of mind training, uncommon to the Great Vehicle, in the form of aspiration prayers, by a practitioner named 'Moon of Wisdom for the Benefit of Others' who sincerely believes in this Dharma. May it be auspicious and fulfilling! May all Dharmas be auspicious! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the essence, the Bodhicitta. May all sentient beings, especially Losang Pal Dorje Tsultrim and others connected to this, through the virtue of printing this excellent scripture that encompasses all teachings, attain the perfect Buddhahood on this excellent path! Good! Good! Good! This was copied from a wooden block print. Gratitude is expressed to the late elder lama Jamyang Nyima of Tharlam Monastery for lending the original, to Pasang Tsering for the effort in finding the original, and to Chokyong Gyurme and Tenpa Yeshe for proofreading. Special thanks are extended to Kunga Tsering and Ewam for their multiple edits and proofreadings on the computer. In the main text, there have been no additions or subtractions; each line has been transcribed, and the catalog has been arranged accordingly, so the line breaks and the catalog are both different from the original. Obvious printing errors have been corrected by a word or two, and in the final mind-training prayer section, the parts written in parentheses are due to the original being incomplete, and I have not dared to guess at the missing words. May the merit of printing this book cause the precious supreme Bodhicitta to quickly arise in the minds of all beings! Written by Sekhar Namsay on the 4th day of the 6th month of the Wood Monkey year of the Rabjung cycle, a virtuous day commemorating the Buddha's first turning of the Wheel of Dharma. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
