O Bhagavati, who excellently liberates from the eight fears, O Mother who destroys the armies of demons by attaining the world, O Captain who liberates from the ocean of samsara, please protect me and all beings, O Noble Mother! The profound instruction of this very empowerment is recorded in writing, transmitted from ear to ear. This empowerment has ten meanings: arrangement, display, realization, self-entry, acceptance, disciple empowerment, body, speech, and mind empowerment, qualities, activities, and subsequent rituals, these are the ten meanings. First, the mandala is four-sided, with a green center. East is blue, south is yellow, west is red, north is white. In the center, place the seed syllable (ཏཱཾ，梵文天城体：ताṃ，梵文罗马拟音：tāṃ，汉字字面意思：当) or arrange the deity assembly. Around the edges, arrange offerings, tormas, and the activity vase. The left hand holds the stem of a lotus at her heart. The petals of the lotus are fully blooming near her ear. She is adorned with a smile and long eyes and eyebrows. Her hair is in braids, adorned with precious ornaments. She is beautifully adorned with earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and various silk head ornaments. White light pervades, and she appears as a sixteen-year-old maiden. Appearance is empty of inherent existence, like a reflection in a mirror. Visualize clearly and dissolve the wisdom goddess. Bestow empowerment, increase wisdom, establish the seal, and generate the self as the deity. Ah! Please, teacher, consider me! Until I reach the essence of enlightenment, I take refuge in all the Buddhas. Likewise, I also take refuge in the Dharma and the assembly of Bodhisattvas. Recite this three times, giving the vows of refuge. Then, the vows of generating the mind: Just as the Buddhas of the past generated the mind of enlightenment, and abide in the training of Bodhisattvas, in that order. Likewise, for the benefit of beings, I will generate the mind of enlightenment, and likewise, I will train in the training, in that order. I will liberate those who are not liberated, free those who are not free, cause those who have not departed to depart, and establish sentient beings in Nirvana. Recite this three times, which is generating the mind. Then, the practice of the seven branches: The essence of the Three Jewels, I prostrate to the Lama Tara. I offer outer, inner, and secret offerings. I confess all sins individually. I rejoice in the virtues of beings. I request the turning of the wheel of Dharma. Fifth, the mandala deity and the Lama, the two, are inseparable, offer the mandala, and then pray, the order of granting permission is: Light radiates from the body of the Lama Tara, merging into the disciple's body immeasurably, contemplate receiving the blessings of obtaining the body of Tara. Recite: Om Tare Tuttare JAH HUM BA HO (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཏཱ་རུ་ཏུཏྟ་རེ་ཛཿཧཱུྃ་བ་ཧོཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ tāre tuttāre jaḥ hūṃ bā hoḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Tare, Tuttare, Jah, Hum, Ba, Soha). This is the empowerment of Tara's body. The benefits of this are two: temporary and ultimate. Temporarily, all the defilements of the body are purified, and ultimately, there is the necessity of obtaining the body of Tara, endowed with marks and signs. Sixth, is the subsequent permission of speech. Offer the mandala and pray: Please, teacher, compassionate lord, Tara. Or, as the venerable Arya Tara, and Mitra himself, were granted permission. Likewise, Lama, please grant me the permission of the body. Likewise, speech and mind, as well as qualities and activities, also increase. The meditation is: On the lotus moon in the heart of the Lama Tara, the seed syllable TAM (Tibetan: ཏཱཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: tāṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Tam), surrounded by the mantra garland, enters the disciple's mouth from the Lama's mouth, merging into the TAM (Tibetan: ཏཱཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: tāṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Tam) in the heart.
