Revealing the faults of friends, speaking harshly, lacking the foundation of altruism, bearing the greatest deceit, suppressing the wise, monks unable to keep vows, mantra practitioners unable to keep commitments, women unable to control their bodies, land unable to control water, friends unable to keep secrets, rulers plundering wealth, the rich unable to protect wealth, liars becoming ministers, believers not remembering good deeds. Those with memory destroy the place of offering, practitioners envy householders, the elderly long for death, false Dharma is mastered, farmers like to deceive, new merits are mastered, seeking wealth through improper livelihoods, entering the face of benefactors, counting the non-existent as mantras, visualizing pretas as deities, stealing existing food, proclaiming non-existent virtues, liking food, liking sleep, becoming clever without examination, expecting accomplishment without practice, expecting mastery without learning, like the people of Dingri, becoming intimate without meeting, quarreling without associating, doing unreasonable things, speaking unreasonable words, being intensely jealous, difficult to associate with and having evil intentions. It is said that in the era filled with such people, the Dharma will decline. Kunda asked: How should one associate with such people? The answer: Do not trust such people, do not seek advice, do not seek friends, do not answer, do not bestow favors, do not transmit harm, do not associate, do not befriend, do not entrust as master, do not consider it true, do not talk much, do not mix behavior, do not beg, do not let them sit in the middle, do not make relatives, do not befriend, do not share wealth, do not become intimate, do not give your heart, do not learn virtues, do not give teachings, do not surround them, do not arrange seats, do not expect too much, escape with methods, associate with reasons, keep distance, stand far away, if asked say you don't know, if they say "Did you see?" say you didn't see, if they say "Did you hear?" say you didn't hear, if they say "Do you know?" say you don't know, if they say "Is there?" say there isn't, do not eat their food, nor take their wealth, bear the loss yourself, give them the victory, do not praise or slander, do not be biased or partial, do not strive for victory in words, cultivate patience and compete. It is said that in that era, What is the lifespan? The answer: About fifty or sixty years. Asked: Do these people have the cause to become Buddhas? The answer: Just as rabbits grow horns and frogs grow hair, they will become Buddhas. Asked: Will there be some practitioners at that time? The answer: Practitioners will come, but will...

They say they are just pretending. They say they don't conform to the Dharma. Most are swindlers who use the Dharma to deceive people. They will say they dislike hypocrisy, observe the rule of not eating after noon, have no family, and don't drink alcohol. But they are mostly swindlers. In general, practicing the Dharma requires abandoning worldly things, which is difficult. I asked: Where are such people most numerous? He said: Ü-Tsang (present-day Lhasa and Shigatse areas of the Tibet Autonomous Region) has the most. He said: It is difficult to do that in Kham (present-day western Sichuan, northwestern Yunnan, and eastern Tibet Autonomous Region). I asked: Where will such people be reborn after death? He said: Like untying a rope made of sand, they will fall into the lower realms. I asked: If you teach the Dharma to such people, will they not accept the Dharma? He said: Do not teach them the Dharma, as that will only increase their chances of creating negative karma. They will say that the words of crazy yogis are nonsense and should not be believed. I asked: At such times, where will those who pray to the holy ones be reborn? He said: If they conform to the Dharma, they will be reborn in the higher realms. It is important to avoid evil after praying. I asked: How should one practice the Dharma at that time? He said: Kunga, at that time, whatever Dharma you practice, abandon attachment to places, sever dependence on relatives, reduce the need for food and clothing, take the essence of food, live in rock caves, befriend wild animals, and willingly endure hardships. I asked: Then, isn't it very wonderful to support monks and gather sanghas? He said: It is difficult to conform to the Dharma. Even if they conform, few are virtuous. He said: Compared to such monks, a retreat place for practice is more virtuous. The holy one said: There is no time in life, and the conditions for gathering many teachings and explanations will not come together. It is difficult to find a qualified lama to practice with. I asked: At that time, is there a way to attain liberation? He said: At that time, meditate on the deity Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara, recite the heart mantra (Tibetan: མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: मणि पद्मे हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Mani Padme Hum), let your own mind be the witness. Do not discriminate against all practitioners. Do not accumulate merit for fame and gain and gatherings. Whatever good deeds you do, dedicate them to enlightenment. Whatever you do, think of others. Start restraining yourself now. Do not compete with others. Do you understand? If you practice the Dharma, that is enough. Go and practice diligently in one place. Do not be deceived by acharyas (Sanskrit Devanagari: आचार्य, Sanskrit Romanization: ācārya, Literal Chinese meaning: teacher). The words spoken by the supreme holy Jetsun Rinpoche, who possesses the wisdom of knowledge, to the Bodhisattva Kunga are completed. Sanskrit Romanization: sarva maṅgalam, Literal Chinese meaning: All auspiciousness!).
