The Tenth Volume of the Treasury of Pith Instructions. A Compilation on the Practice of the Six Tastes of Sameness. The Tenth Volume of the Treasury of Pith Instructions. A Compilation on the Practice of the Six Tastes of Sameness. Herein lies the text entitled "A Compilation on the Practice of the Six Tastes of Sameness." I prostrate to the venerable gurus. Dwelling in the forest caves of unwavering samadhi, boasting the prowess of the five faces of supreme wisdom. Taming the herds of elephants of clinging to reality. I prostrate to the feet of the glorious Drukpa. Here, the compilation of the Great Seal of Taste Sameness, or the explanation of the Six Tastes of Sameness in threes and threes, has two aspects: the lineage history and the pith instructions. The first is like the lineage prayer. The second has two parts: preliminaries and the main practice. First, liberate all sentient beings from the prison of samsara and establish them in unsurpassed enlightenment. For this purpose, I will meditate on this profound and ultimate pith instruction of the Taste Sameness of the Elements. With this thought, rest the body in a comfortable posture. Visualize oneself as the venerable Vajrayogini. Visualize the lineage gurus above one's crown. Recite the Taste Sameness prayer. Finally, dissolve into light and merge into oneself. Then, turn the mind away from fluctuations towards objects. Rest in the natural state of the mind as it is. The second part has six cycles. The first is the pith instruction on taking thoughts as the path, taking bad omens as support. There are three parts: the preliminary of abandoning desire, the main practice of resting in emptiness, and the subsequent practice of taste sameness. The first is: generally, thoughts are the root of wandering in samsara. Therefore, one tries to abandon them, not wanting them to arise. If one does not know that this is precisely taking them as the path, and clings to what is to be abandoned and the antidote, one cannot cut through the path. Therefore, returning from the general, practice the method of returning. The three—appearances, sounds, and awareness—arise equally in self-awareness. For this taste sameness, the more thoughts there are, the more the power of wisdom increases, like fire meeting wood. Therefore, when thoughts arise, one should only feel joy. The second is: at the moment when a thought arises, if one recognizes it, it will arise and be liberated at that very moment. Returning from ignorance is the wisdom of awareness. If one does not recognize it, it will become ignorance itself. The former is considered the only antidote. Without it, there is no abandoning and no antidote.

Without distinction. Samsara and nirvana are equal, which is the discriminating Dharmakaya. At such a time, awareness can only abide in the state of one's own mind, and not elsewhere. Therefore, it is said in the Prophecy of Intentions: "The initial mind is quiescence, like the number of the immovable, etc. Seeing is called insight." Therefore, the quiescence and insight mentioned here refer to this. Therefore, this is the root of the practice of the Gampopa tradition. The third is that, having recognized this, the object to be recognized and the subject of recognition are inseparable, which is equality. It is like pouring water into water. Do not let unadorned thoughts be lost on the wrong path. Recognize them as they arise, and do not let them experience the two: the controllable thought and the stray thought. Second, transforming afflictions into the path, transforming poison into nectar, also has three points. The first is to make a wish: May afflictions arise! May they swell! May I be controlled by afflictions! Make this extraordinary wish. Second, the main practice is to rest in emptiness: If you summarize the root and near afflictions, you can summarize them into five afflictions. For example, for the affliction of ignorance, when sleeping, rest on sleep without distraction, so that the dissolution of sleep naturally liberates, and you can recognize the ground luminosity, which is what needs to be practiced. Therefore, it is said in the sutra: "Rest your mind in what you are accustomed to, and enter into the luminosity." The affliction of desire is also the same. At the time of fainting at the end of the ten aspects of desire, desire and awareness do not faint. That itself is great bliss, self- awareness. Hatred is also the same. At the time of hatred, recognizing hatred itself will be clearer. In this way, for manifest actions, both liberation and guidance can be achieved. By analogy, jealousy and so on are also the same. The third is that, in this way, at the moment when the self-nature of affliction is empty, it is naturally liberated, so it is called affliction is wisdom. Third, transforming gods and demons into the path, and gathering obstacles into the key points of accomplishment, has three points. The first is that, in a quiet place, or a secret practice place, in short, when walking or living in any place that is frightening and creepy, do not worry about obstacles arising, but rather make a wish to be happy if obstacles arise, because obstacles are the guides to accomplishment. The second is that, in those places, the illusions and obstacles of gods and demons
