The Tenth Volume of the Damngak Dzö, The Instruction Manual on the Six Tastes of Equality by Pal Khyöchö Wangpo The Tenth Volume of the Damngak Dzö The Instruction Manual on the Six Tastes of Equality by Pal Khyöchö Wangpo The Instruction Manual on the Six Tastes of Equality by Pal Khyöchö Wangpo is presented. Here, one has actually met the Bhagavan Vajradhara the Great in pure vision. The blessings of the lamas of the Four Transmissions are gathered into one, the emanation of the Wheel of Bliss, the lord of yoga, blessed by Tilopa himself. The great Lord Naropa himself practiced twelve different austerities. Relying on the lama and possessing immeasurable devotion, with skillful means and great compassion, he took conceptualization, affliction, demons, suffering, sickness, and death as the path, the six instructions on the taste of equality. To practice this, a lama possessing the qualities, a student ripening the continuum of a suitable vessel with the four empowerments, in a pleasing place, taking refuge and generating bodhicitta, the hundred-syllable mantra, the mandala. Thinking extensively about the impermanence of all compounded things. Each of the six dharmas is practiced by those of superior, middling, and inferior faculties. Without error, it is briefly taught. First, taking conceptualization as the path: The superior one looks to where the conceptualization has gone, where it came from, and where it abides. Realizing that the three times are inseparable, in equanimity, realizing one's own mind as the unborn dharmakaya is what is called becoming a Buddha. The middling one, with the instruction of looking at the three aspects of conceptualization, going, coming, and abiding, in place, time, and direction, recognizes it as being free from extremes, and by leaving it uncorrected, unadulterated, and relaxed, all qualities naturally arise. The inferior one, with four ways of looking, seeks the moisture of calm abiding with the peaceful way of looking of the Hearers. With the way of looking of the lion, the mind is made clear and pure. With the way of looking of the wrathful one, a banner is attached to awareness. With the way of looking of the Brahma god, conceptualization naturally ceases, and the faculties are transformed by awareness. This is the supreme instruction on the union of calm and insight. This is taking conceptualization as the path, the instruction of taking bad omens as support. Even worldly people, when seeing bad omens, should not be bound by conceptualization, but should transform them into support. Second, affliction.

The place to take it to the path: The superior one sees that various kinds of happiness and suffering, such as beauty and ugliness, arise from the six aggregates of objects that give rise to afflictions, due to the arising of clinging to reality. Therefore, by determining that objects are unreal like illusions, the subject naturally ceases, and naturally pacifies, realizing the unborn Dharmakaya. The intermediate one intensifies each of the objects of attachment, objects of hatred, and objects of delusion, making them the object of focus, or transferring the focus from one object to another, making it the object. Therefore, by being free from attachment to objects, the three poisons of the subject are liberated in their own place, and emptiness is realized. The inferior one meditates on the impurity perception of corpses, etc., for objects of attachment, meditates on loving-kindness for objects of hatred, and meditates on dependent origination for objects of delusion, so the three poisons naturally cease and effortlessly go away. Taking afflictions to the path, the instruction of transforming poison into nectar, is like killing the power of poison with mantras, making it non-toxic and becoming medicine. Third, taking gods and demons to the path: Ghosts and spirits like Indra will surely appear in front of you, do not just be afraid, but roar like a lion. As it is said, there are four kinds of conduct: Samantabhadra's conduct, secret mantra conduct, victorious conduct, and the conduct of a wise ascetic. The superior one has equal taste of happiness and suffering, so with conduct that cannot be invaded by demons, without thought, without action, without elaboration, the Dharmakaya is manifested. The intermediate one repeatedly focuses on the emptiness of the nature of gods and demons' discrimination, thereby understanding non-elaboration. The inferior one treats gods and demons as guests, makes offerings of body, food, and leftovers, subduing the gods and demons, thereby obtaining the instruction of accomplishment. This is the instruction of taking gods and demons to the path, gathering obstacles into accomplishments, like using wild animals as gatekeepers, not harming oneself but preventing others. Fourth, taking the suffering of samsara to the path: The root is ignorance, the cause is karma and afflictions, the action of the three doors, the result is suffering, in this life and the next, and in countless lifetimes, encountering conditions, karma ripens and sentient beings suffer, the superior one practices exchanging self and others, generating Bodhicitta. The intermediate one practices equalizing self and others, Bodhi
