Although it is clear, it is like being obscured by a vase, so that it is not visible outside. Although the essential Dharmakaya resides within oneself, it is completely invisible because it is obscured by the obscuring vase. Just as when the vase is broken, it becomes visible, when the grounds are free from whatever obscurations there are, it makes the lamp of the world universally visible. Just as the Sugata's body is inside the lotus, but because the lotus is closed, it is not visible outside. Similarly, because the thousand petals of grasping and being grasped obscure it, one cannot see the self-illuminating Lord of Conquerors. Whenever the petals open and become clear, when one is liberated from the lotus petals of the illusion of grasping and being grasped, the three bodies of enlightenment will appear within oneself. Therefore, the ultimate clear light of the Dharmadhatu, know that it is the reality that exists within oneself. There are many names for this, it is called Dhatu and Wisdom because it is the source of Samsara and Nirvana, it is called Self-existing Spontaneity because it has existed from the beginning, it is called the Essence of the Tathagata because it is obscured by impurities, and it is called the Ultimate Truth because it is reality.
