Because the aspiration never slackens, please consider with great compassion! May the appearance of the three secrets be inseparable, and may all pure white virtues be perfected to the utmost! 'This compilation of the Four Causes for Rebirth in Sukhavati, entitled 'The Path to the Supreme Pure Land,' was specially written by Mati for those who have a keen interest in the Dharma and are skilled in speech. In short, whether it is the name of Amitabha or the three mantras, the essence of their meaning is as follows: The great master of all the secret virtues of the Buddhas' body, speech, and mind, the blessings of the body, speech, and mind of the guide, the Infinite Light Buddha (Amitabha), are transferred to my mindstream without omission, so that the ripening karma, the cycle of dependent origination, and the truth of suffering are all integrated into the realm of great wisdom, and liberated in the great transformation of equal taste. Therefore, it is permissible to recite any of these three mantras at will. No matter which of the three mantras is recited, if one recites it hundreds of times while contemplating the meaning of the mantra, one can purify all the heavy sins of the ten non-virtuous actions; similarly, reciting it thousands of times can lower the growth trend of great karmic obscurations such as the five heinous crimes; reciting it ten thousand times can close the door to falling into the lower realms; reciting it one hundred thousand times can perfectly obtain the leisure and endowment of a human body; reciting it a million times can grasp the path of liberation; reciting it ten million times can obtain the excellent physical basis for being born in the Pure Land of Great Bliss; and reciting it a hundred million times can turn one's back on samsara and surely and quickly attain the Great Enlightenment. All of this can only be achieved when accumulating merit, without being affected by any negative factors that can destroy virtue. These three mantras originate from the heart essence of the New Tantras, so in the lineages of both the new and old schools, there are their respective practices, whether large or small, that benefit sentient beings. Therefore, no matter which one we are inclined to, it can open the door to blessings without any difference, so it is crucial to diligently practice the Dharma that one prefers. This was also said by Mati for the benefit of those with good qualities. Homage to the Three Jewels! Thus I have heard: At one time, the Bhagavan (Blessed One) was dwelling under the Bodhi tree, and at that time, the Bhagavan (Blessed One) spoke, saying: 'In the future evil age, the Dharma that benefits sentient beings is as follows: The so-called Dharma is like a path.' What does this mean? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why is it called the path? Because all sentient beings travel on this path, therefore the Dharma is called the path. If one writes, recites, and makes offerings with faithful reverence to these Dharma letters blessed by the Bhagavan (Bhagavan, The Blessed One), great benefits will arise. Conversely, those who do not believe in the Dharma letters and speak falsely against them will certainly experience negative consequences. After the Bhagavan spoke thus, the Bodhisattva (Bodhisattva, Enlightenment Being) Avalokiteśvara (Avalokiteśvara, The one who perceives the sounds of the world), the Regent Maitreya (Maitreya, The Loving One), and the great Shravaka Ānanda (Ānanda, The Joyful One), and other great assemblies rejoiced and praised the words spoken by the Bhagavan. Sarva Mangalam Jayantu (Sarva Mangalam Jayantu, May all be auspicious and victorious)! Herein lies the collection of 'Concise Recitation of the Four Causes - The Path to the Supreme Field', and others. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
