From beginningless time until now, due to ignorance, disrespect, and many afflictions, whatever vows have been transgressed, whether outer, inner, or secret, the root of the teachings, the Pratimoksha vows, defeats, remaining offenses, downfall offenses, etc., and all the precepts that have been taken, whether subtle or gross, all that has been broken, I confess and purify. The branches of the teachings, the Paramita vows, the four black dharmas, downfall offenses, and all misdeeds, due to lack of mental strength and failure to restrain myself, all transgressions and broken vows, I confess. The fruit of the teachings, the Vajrayana vows, the fourteen root downfalls, the eight gross offenses, etc., and all the countless samayas that have been taken, all that has been broken, I confess. In short, all transgressions of the Pratimoksha, Bodhisattva, and Mantra vows, I feel ashamed and regretful for what has happened in the past, and with the intention to restrain myself well in the future, may this act of repentance purify and grant attainments. I confess all actions that harm the Three Jewels (Tibetan: མཆོག་གསུམ་, meaning: Buddha, Dharma, Sangha), abandoning the sacred Dharma, slandering the noble Sangha, and all actions that harm sentient beings. I confess all the sins and non-virtuous deeds that I have committed, encouraged others to commit, or rejoiced in others' commission. In short, I confess all sins and faults that hinder liberation and good destinies, and cause samsara and evil destinies. I confess and admit before the Vajra Holder (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན་པ་, meaning: one who holds the vajra) and all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas residing in the ten directions, without concealing or hiding anything, and I vow to refrain from them in the future. Vajrasattva (Sanskrit: Vajrasattva, Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ, meaning: Vajra Hero), Lord of all Buddhas, please listen to me! Due to ignorance, disrespect, and strong afflictions, I have disobeyed the wishes of the venerable Guru, violated the commands, and been angry with my Vajra brothers (referring to practitioners in the same Vajrayana lineage), for which I deeply regret. I have abandoned loving-kindness, lost Bodhicitta (Sanskrit: Bodhicitta, Tibetan: བྱང་སེམས་, meaning: mind of enlightenment), slandered sects, proclaimed secrets to the immature, despised the five skandhas (Sanskrit: Skandha, Tibetan: ཕུང་པོ, meaning: elements constituting individual experience), doubted the Dharma, and hypocritically shown affection, for which I deeply regret. I have made self-fabricated speculations on profound states, criticized pure beings, abandoned samaya substances, and slandered women, etc. I confess the faults of violating the fourteen root vows (Sanskrit: Mula-samaya, Tibetan: རྩ་ལྟུང་, meaning: root vows). I confess all violations and deficiencies of the vows concerning the Guru's body, speech, and mind, as well as the common and individual vows of the five families (Sanskrit: Kula, Tibetan: རིགས་, meaning: Buddha families). From the depths of my heart, I confess all violations and deficiencies of the root and branch vows of Vajrayana (Sanskrit: Vajrayana, Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་ཐེག་པ་, meaning: Vajra Vehicle). May all my sins and defilements be completely purified, may I swiftly walk the supreme and profound Vajra path, and may I quickly attain the state of Vajradhara with seven unions in this very life. This confession was written by Tubten Gelek Gyatso (Tibetan: ཐུབ་བསྟན་དགེ་ལེགས་རྒྱ་མཚོ) at the request of Bhikshu Tenzin Chopel (Tibetan: བསྟན་འཛིན་ཆོས་འཕེལ་). The Hundred Syllable Mantra of the Essence of Heruka (Sanskrit: Heruka, Tibetan: ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་, meaning: Blood Drinker): Om Shri Vajra Heruka Samaya, Manupalaya, Vajra Heruka Tvenopatista, Dido Me Bhava, Sutokhyo Me Bhava, Anurakto Me Bhava, Supokhyo Me Bhava, Sarva Siddhi Mem Prayaccha, Sarva Karma Sucame, Cittam Shriyam, Kuru Hum Haha Haha Ho, Bhagavan, Vajra Heruka Ma Me Munca, Heruko Bhava, Maha Samaya Sattva Ah Hum Phet.
