《Precipitating the Rain of Wisdom, Compassion, and Power: How to Practice the Guru Yoga of Jamyang Sakya Pandita》 Homage to the Guru and Protector Manjushri! Here, wishing to practice the Guru Yoga of Jamyang through the means of Jamyang Sakya Pandita, one should sit on a comfortable seat in the posture of meditation. In the sky in front, on a lotus and moon cushion, dwells Jamyang (Manjushri) who is the essence of Sakya Pandita, red-yellow in color, teaching the Dharma, holding an utpala flower and scripture, adorned with silk and jewels, sitting in the vajra posture. One should regard his body as the Sangha, his speech as the sacred Dharma, and his mind as the Guru and the Buddhas. In front, one's self and all mother sentient beings are present, taking refuge with the three roots of fear, faith, and compassion, until attaining enlightenment. Vocally recite 'I and all beings,' etc., and 'I take refuge in the glorious and holy Guru,' up to 'I take refuge in the Sangha,' reciting three times or as much as possible. With palms joined, recite 'Guru and precious jewels,' etc. From the heart of the refuge object, rays of light emanate, touching those who take refuge, purifying sins and obscurations, and transforming them into Buddhas, each going to their own pure land. The refuge object dissolves into oneself, or remains in a state of non-discrimination. For the benefit of all sentient beings, may I attain the state of perfect Buddhahood. For this purpose, I will practice the Guru Yoga of Jamyang. Generate the mind of enlightenment by reciting three times, etc. Meditate on the four immeasurables: May all sentient beings have happiness, etc. Through Svabhava, all phenomena become emptiness, like an illusion. From within emptiness, on the pistil of a thousand-petaled lotus on the crown of one's head, there is a full moon disc, upon which dwells the Lord of Dharma, Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltsen Pal Zangpo, whose essence is Manjushri, and whose form is that of a Pandita, red-yellow in color, with one face and two arms, sitting in the vajra posture. His two hands are at his heart, making the gesture of teaching the Dharma, holding the stem of an utpala flower, with the left and right sides of the flower blooming near his ears, with a flaming sword of wisdom on the right side, and a Prajnaparamita scripture on the left side. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adorned with the thirty-two major marks (Sanskrit: Lakshana, referring to the thirty-two special physical characteristics of the Buddha or great figures) and eighty minor marks (Sanskrit: Anuvyanjana, which are subsidiary features of the thirty-two marks, more subtle and difficult to perceive). Wearing a Sakya hat on his head and three ochre-colored robes on his body. On his forehead, above the moon, is a white Om (Tibetan: ༀ, Devanagari: ॐ, Romanized Sanskrit: Om, literal Chinese meaning: the sound of the beginning of the universe). At his throat, above a lotus, is a red Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: आः, Romanized Sanskrit: Āḥ, literal Chinese meaning: emptiness). At his heart, above the sun, is a blue Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: Hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: wisdom). From there, light radiates, inviting the Buddhas, Yidams, Lamas, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas of the ten directions, as well as the Dharma protectors and wealth deities, with 'Om Vajra Samajaḥ' (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ, Romanized Sanskrit: Om Vajra Samajaḥ, literal Chinese meaning: Om, Vajra, descend) and the Vajra mudra. Pray to the Lama Chokyi Je (Dharma King), who resides on the crown of the head, with 'Jaḥ Hūṃ Baṃ Hoḥ' (Tibetan: ཛཿཧཱུྃ་བཾ་ཧོཿ, Romanized Sanskrit: Jaḥ Hūṃ Baṃ Hoḥ, literal Chinese meaning: invite, merge, combine, rejoice) merging into non-duality, so that he abides in the essence of the union of all refuge objects. Visualize the central channel from the secret place of your body to the crown of your head, white on the outside and red on the inside, as thick as a small finger, hollow like a tube, with the lotus stem of the Dharma King Lama inside. Visualize a white Om (Tibetan: ༀ, Devanagari: ॐ, Romanized Sanskrit: Om, literal Chinese meaning: the sound of the beginning of the universe) on your forehead, a red Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: आः, Romanized Sanskrit: Āḥ, literal Chinese meaning: emptiness) at your throat, and a blue Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: Hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: wisdom) at your heart, and recite them clearly. After reciting and visualizing, no matter what happiness, suffering, good, bad, high, or low I encounter, think that there is no other refuge than the Dharma King Lama, and offer earnest prayers from the bottom of your heart with strong devotion. 'With vast wisdom eyes, seeing all that is knowable,' recite from one hundred to seven verses. If you know it, recite the extensive, medium, and concise versions of the Dharma King's prayer, or recite it once. The method of recitation is: in the heart of the Dharma King Lama, above the moon disc, visualize a red-yellow Dhih (Tibetan: དྷཱིཿ, Devanagari: धीः, Romanized Sanskrit: Dhīḥ, literal Chinese meaning: wisdom) syllable, surrounded by the mantra rotating clockwise from the front. 'Om Ara Pa Ca Na' (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨ་ར་པ་ཙ་ན་, Romanized Sanskrit: Om Ara Pa Ca Na, literal Chinese meaning: Om, the stainless one), the color of the letters is red-yellow. From there, light radiates, purifying all beings' sins, obscurations, and sufferings, awakening the minds of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and inviting the blessings of wisdom, compassion, and power in the form of light, merging into the Dhih (Tibetan: དྷཱིཿ, Devanagari: धीः, Romanized Sanskrit: Dhīḥ, literal Chinese meaning: wisdom) syllable and mantra chain in the heart of the Dharma King Lama. From there, countless red-yellow lights radiate, filling your entire body from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet, purifying all diseases, evil spirits, sins, obscurations, and the darkness of ignorance, causing the wisdom of realizing selflessness to arise in your mind. While continuously and clearly performing the visualization of radiating and withdrawing light, recite 'Om Ara Pa Ca Na Dhih' (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨ་ར་པ་ཙ་ན་དྷཱིཿ, Romanized Sanskrit: Om Ara Pa Ca Na Dhīḥ, literal Chinese meaning: Om, the stainless one, wisdom), reciting one hundred, one thousand, ten thousand, etc., as much as possible in each session. If performing the approach retreat, recite eight hundred thousand times. In any case, after each session, pray again to Lama Tsongkhapa with devotion. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
